Used 2022 Volkswagen Atlas for Sale nearNepean, ON

How much does the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas cost?

Prices have softened 16.96% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 321 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for shoppers to compare.

Is the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

The Atlas is built around space, comfort, and utility, so it makes the most sense if you want a roomy family SUV with a spacious third row and lots of cargo room. The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, fuel economy is poor, and the interior materials feel cheap.

Cons: Fairly pedestrian performance; poor fuel economy.

With 27.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Atlas is presented as a practical, comfort-first SUV, and its overall package is built around everyday usefulness rather than complexity. Its 4-year, 80,000-kilometre warranty adds some ownership reassurance, and the available safety and convenience tech should help it feel well covered for daily use.

The main long-term risk for used buyers is that the Atlas’s value proposition depends heavily on condition, maintenance history, and whether you can live with its less refined powertrain and cabin materials.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Volkswagen Atlas?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Trendline is the most basic version, and it has a tiny 6.5-inch touchscreen and last-generation infotainment system. Higher trims add more polish, with the Execline bringing the most upscale look and equipment.
• Powertrain: The Trendline, Comfortline, and Highline use a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 4Motion all-wheel drive, while the 3.6-litre V6 is optional on Comfortline and Highline and standard on Execline. The turbo four needs premium fuel for its full output, and the V6 is less efficient but more capable.
• Safety package: Front Assist, Side Assist, and Rear Traffic Alert are standard. Comfortline adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go plus front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking. Highline adds brighter LED headlights with automatic high-beam operation and adaptive front lighting, while Execline adds Area View and Park Assist.
• Infotainment: Every Atlas gets Volkswagen Digital Cockpit. The Trendline has a 6.5-inch touchscreen, while other trims get an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, and Car-Net connected services. Highline adds a 10.25-inch digital display and navigation, and Execline adds a 12-speaker Fender premium audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The turbocharged 2.0-litre is rated at 10.6 L/100 km in combined driving, while the V6 is rated at 12.2 L/100 km combined.

Which 2022 Volkswagen Atlas trim should I buy?

The 2022 Volkswagen Atlas is offered in 4 trim levels: Trendline, Comfortline, Highline, and Execline.

Here's the short version:

• Trendline: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Atlas’s core space and practicality at the lowest price. It also gets the standard safety suite, but the small 6.5-inch touchscreen and older infotainment setup make it feel less modern than the higher trims.
• Comfortline: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking, and the newer infotainment system with wireless smartphone integration.
• Highline: This trim adds the 10.25-inch digital display, navigation, brighter LED headlights, and adaptive front lighting, so it is the better pick if you want more convenience and a more premium feel.
• Execline: This is the most fully equipped version, with the V6 standard, Area View, Park Assist, and the Fender premium audio system. It suits you best if you want the most features and are willing to pay for them.

The safety package starts with Front Assist, Side Assist, and Rear Traffic Alert, then expands as you move up the range.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Volkswagen Atlas?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 27.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 321 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.96% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $31,658 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas's resale value?

The current average of $32,284 CAD sits slightly below last year's $38,877 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face more price pressure if the trend continues. If you buy now, you may be entering at a softer point in the cycle, which can help limit depreciation risk compared with a higher-priced period. Strong demand for roomy family SUVs should still support used interest, especially for well-kept examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas safe?

The 2022 Atlas does not earn a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and it gets four-star ratings for the driver and front passenger in frontal-impact tests from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Front Assist includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, and automatic emergency braking. Side Assist is a blind-spot monitoring system, and Rear Traffic Alert adds rear cross-traffic alert. Comfortline adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability plus front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking. Highline adds brighter LED headlights with automatic high-beam operation and adaptive front lighting, while Execline adds Area View and Park Assist.

A key caveat is that Lane Assist can be intrusive and may react poorly to old pavement markings and exit ramps.

Should I buy a 2022 Volkswagen Atlas or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 27.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.96% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the roomy, comfort-first formula that makes the Atlas appealing for families who value space and practicality.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $28,455 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $32,284 CAD average.
• It focuses on straightforward utility for buyers who want a roomy family hauler.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the better pick if you want the newer market position and are shopping for a spacious, practical three-row SUV with strong owner satisfaction. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2021 is the more budget-friendly route and still delivers the Atlas’s core strengths.
