Used 2022 Volkswagen Atlas for Sale nearKingston, ON

How much does the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas cost?

Prices have softened 18.17% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 331 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

The Atlas is built around space and everyday usefulness, with a comfortable cabin, a spacious third row, and plenty of cargo space. That makes it a strong fit if you want a family-sized SUV that prioritises practicality over flash.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, fuel economy is poor, and the interior materials feel cheap. Even so, the Atlas still makes sense if you value room, utility, and a straightforward three-row layout more than refinement.

28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Atlas is positioned as a practical, comfort-focused three-row SUV, and its expert assessment reinforces that it is built to serve family duty rather than chase sporty credentials. Its 4-year, 80,000-kilometre warranty also adds some ownership reassurance.

The turbocharged four-cylinder offers slightly better fuel consumption than the V6, but the premium fuel requirement reduces that advantage. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the Atlas’s less refined powertrains and cheaper-feeling interior may age less gracefully than its space and utility suggest.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Volkswagen Atlas?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Trendline is the most basic version, and it uses a smaller 6.5-inch touchscreen with the older infotainment system. Higher trims add more equipment, with the Execline bringing the most upscale look and features.
• Powertrain: The Trendline, Comfortline, and Highline use a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 4Motion all-wheel drive, while the 3.6-litre V6 is optional on Comfortline and Highline and standard on Execline. The V6 is more capable for towing, but it is still described as leisurely and less refined.
• Safety package: Front Assist, Side Assist, and Rear Traffic Alert are standard on Trendline. Comfortline adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go plus front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking. Highline adds brighter LED headlights with automatic high-beam operation and adaptive front lighting, while Execline adds Area View and Park Assist.
• Infotainment: Every Atlas gets Volkswagen Digital Cockpit. Trendline uses a 6.5-inch touchscreen, while other trims get an 8-inch touchscreen with MIB3, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, SiriusXM, and Car-Net connected services. Highline adds a 10.25-inch display, and Execline gets a 12-speaker Fender audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The turbocharged 2.0-litre is rated at 10.6 L/100 km in combined driving, while the V6 is rated at 12.2 L/100 km in combined driving.

Which 2022 Volkswagen Atlas trim should I buy?

The 2022 Volkswagen Atlas is offered in 4 trim levels: Trendline, Comfortline, Highline, and Execline.

Here's the short version:

• Trendline: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Atlas’s core strengths: space, standard all-wheel drive, and the basic safety suite. It is the value play if you want the roomiest version of the Atlas without paying for extras, but the smaller touchscreen and older infotainment setup make it feel less polished.
• Comfortline: This trim adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking, making it a smarter everyday choice than Trendline if you want more driver assistance.
• Highline: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the 10.25-inch digital display, a larger infotainment setup, navigation, and upgraded lighting. It also unlocks the V6 as an option.
• Execline: This is the most fully equipped Atlas, with the V6 standard, Area View, Park Assist, and the 12-speaker Fender audio system. It suits you best if you want the most features and the top-end presentation.

The safety-package progression is strongest as you move up the range, with Comfortline, Highline, and Execline adding more advanced driver-assistance and parking technology.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Volkswagen Atlas?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 331 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.17% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $31,550 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas's resale value?

The current average of $31,829 CAD sits slightly below last year's $38,896 CAD.

That price drop suggests the Atlas has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer market than owners saw a year ago. If you buy now, you may benefit from the lower entry price, but resale upside will depend on how well the vehicle is equipped and maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas safe?

The 2022 Atlas does not earn a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and it gets four-star ratings for the driver and front passenger in frontal-impact tests conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Front Assist includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, and automatic emergency braking. Side Assist is a blind-spot monitoring system, and Rear Traffic Alert adds rear cross-traffic alert. Comfortline adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability plus front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking, while Highline and Execline add more parking and lighting technology.

A key caveat is that Lane Assist can be overly sensitive to road markings and construction scars, and the parking sensors can react too aggressively when the vehicle is heavily loaded.

Should I buy a 2022 Volkswagen Atlas or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.17% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 keeps the roomy, practical three-row formula with strong family-use appeal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $28,185 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $31,829 CAD average.
• It is a straightforward family hauler with only limited changes for the model year.

The bottom line: If you want the better-equipped and more current used Atlas, the 2022 is the stronger pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2021 is the more budget-friendly route and still delivers the same basic space-first mission.
