How much does the 2022 Toyota Tundra cost?

Is the 2022 Toyota Tundra a good car?

Yes — 4.7/5. It earns an expert rating of 7.8/10.

The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its powerful engine, advanced features, solid feel, and smooth ride. That lines up well with the Tundra’s role as an all-new full-size half-ton pickup that can be configured for work duties or everyday use.

The Tundra also has a loyal owner base and a reputation for durability and value, which helps it appeal if you want a capable truck with broad configuration choices. Good and great deals make up 34.2% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Toyota Tundra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to reliability, durability, and a trouble-free ownership experience, with many owners saying they can count on it over the long term. The expert notes also reinforce that reputation, describing the Tundra as a truck with a well-deserved reputation for durability and value.

Toyota’s powertrain and chassis updates are aimed at making the truck feel more modern while preserving the dependable character buyers expect. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is paying too much for a truck whose market price can still feel high relative to value.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Toyota Tundra?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin and exterior change meaningfully as you move up the range, with the 14-inch touchscreen standard on Limited and Platinum grades, while SR and SR5 use an 8-inch screen. You should also note that the top TRD Pro gets unique styling details and off-road-focused equipment, while lower trims are more straightforward.
• Powertrain: The standard engine is a twin-turbo 3.5-litre V6 with 389 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque, while the hybrid i-Force Max adds an electric motor-generator for 437 hp and 583 lb-ft. Both use a 10-speed automatic, and the hybrid battery is a 1.87-kWh unit.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard and includes pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control, lane-departure warning with steering assist, lane-tracing assist, automatic high beams, and road sign assist. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is available as part of a package on most SR and SR5 models and standard on all other trim levels.
• Infotainment: Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on all models. Screen size ranges from an 8-inch touchscreen in SR and SR5 to a 14-inch touchscreen in Limited and above, and upper grades also get a 12-speaker JBL premium audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates the RWD Tundra at 11.8 L/100 km combined, while the 4WD standard V6 and hybrid powertrains both use 12.2 L/100 km combined.

Which 2022 Toyota Tundra trim should I buy?

The 2022 Toyota Tundra is offered in 5 trim levels: SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, and TRD Pro.

Here's the short version:

• SR: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the redesigned Tundra and do not need the larger touchscreen or more upscale cabin features.
• SR5: This is one of Toyota’s core trims and a strong value choice if you want a better-equipped truck without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• Limited: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it brings the 14-inch touchscreen and a more premium feel without reaching luxury-truck pricing.
• Platinum: Choose this if you want a more upscale Tundra with the 14-inch screen, available head-up display, and more advanced cabin tech.
• TRD Pro: This is the flagship if you want the most off-road-focused factory setup and the most distinctive trim in the lineup.

Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is available as part of a package on most SR and SR5 models and standard on all other trim levels.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Toyota Tundra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 193 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.06% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $47,035 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Toyota Tundra's resale value?

The current average of $47,464 CAD sits slightly below last year's $53,971 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more truck for the money today, but it also means a future seller may face a more competitive resale environment if prices continue to normalise. The current market suggests buyers are still price-sensitive, so condition, trim, and equipment will matter when you eventually go to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard on all models, and it includes a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control, lane-departure warning with steering assist, lane-tracing assist, automatic high beams, and road sign assist. The Star Safety System is also standard, along with eight airbags, LATCH connectors on the outboard second-row seats, child-protector rear door locks, and a window-lockout control for the driver.

• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.06% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings an all-new redesign with a modern powertrain and updated technology.

• It suits buyers who prioritise towing, hauling, and straightforward capability.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $50,630 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $47,464 CAD average.
