The current average of $24,686 CAD sits slightly below last year's $26,539 CAD.

If the market remains steady, the current entry point could help you preserve more value than buying at a seasonal high. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Toyota Corolla Hybrid or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 41.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.98% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $27,376 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $24,686 CAD average.
• It adds a sedan-only focus with strong efficiency and easy-to-use technology.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the better value if you want the lower average price and a market with plenty of deal opportunities. If you're willing to pay more for the newer year, the 2023 is the better secondary path for buyers who want the latest version and can stretch their budget.
