Reviewed a 2022 Toyota Corolla Hybrid on Jul 29, 2022
My Corolla hybrid has about 12,000 miles now. It really does get over 52 mpg, Im consistently getting 58 or 59 on the hiway. Its quiet, smooth, reliable, and I have had no issues. My only complaint is that its a little on the small side for me, as Im a big man, with a knee replacement, its hard to enter or exit the car. My wife loves it, but I much prefer the larger Camry hybrid. For normal size people, the Corolla hybrid is great. Not so much for big people with bad knees. I can see why Uber drivers love it. It saves a fortune on gas.

Amazing MPG!!!! Fuel sippin and comfy sftex leather with lumbar support. Heated seats and adaptive cruise and blind spot monitors. Lane keep assist and reverse warning for cross traffic! Nice PWR mode for when you need to pass someone!

I really liked this car, but I felt it was lower to the ground than I am comfortable with. Great features and fun to drive. I think its a good value at under $30K. More than that is too much. Might as well buy new.

How much does the 2022 Toyota Corolla Hybrid cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $24,686 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $24,505 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $26,826 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $26,539 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −6.98% |
Prices have softened 6.98% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 93 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2022 Toyota Corolla Hybrid a good car?
Yes — the 5/5 user rating suggests strong owner satisfaction for this model year. That kind of feedback points to a car that meets expectations well for everyday use, especially if you value efficiency and practicality. With 41.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you also have a healthy share of attractive offers to consider.
Is the 2022 Toyota Corolla Hybrid reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
For used buyers, that kind of owner feedback can reduce the risk of unexpected disappointment, though you should still verify maintenance history and overall condition before you buy.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Toyota Corolla Hybrid?
It looks like a buyer’s market right now, with pricing down and a meaningful share of listings offering value.
- Deal availability: 41.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 93 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.98% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $24,505 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2022 Toyota Corolla Hybrid's resale value?
The current average of $24,686 CAD sits slightly below last year's $26,539 CAD.
That softer pricing can be helpful if you buy now, but it also means a future seller may face a more competitive resale environment if prices stay under pressure. If the market remains steady, the current entry point could help you preserve more value than buying at a seasonal high. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2022 Toyota Corolla Hybrid or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2022 if:
- 41.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.98% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $27,376 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $24,686 CAD average.
- It adds a sedan-only focus with strong efficiency and easy-to-use technology.
The bottom line: The 2022 is the better value if you want the lower average price and a market with plenty of deal opportunities. If you're willing to pay more for the newer year, the 2023 is the better secondary path for buyers who want the latest version and can stretch their budget.
