How much does the 2022 Toyota Camry cost?

Prices have softened 7.69% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 109 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2022 Toyota Camry a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.88/5, and the expert rating is 7.17/10. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its reliability, fuel efficiency, stylish design, comfortable interior, and value for money. That lines up well with the Camry’s role as a roomy, reliable, efficient, safe, and affordable sedan for everyday use.

If you want a practical midsize car that still has some visual personality, this model year fits that brief well. The market also shows 21.1% of listings as good or great deals, which is a healthy sign for shoppers.

Is the 2022 Toyota Camry reliable?

Owners rate it 4.88/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to reliability, dependability, and trouble-free ownership as recurring strengths, along with strong fuel efficiency and broad everyday usefulness. The expert assessment also describes it as a comfortable, affordable, reliable, safe, and efficient family car.

Toyota’s engineering focus supports that reputation, and the Camry’s cost-effectiveness makes it appealing if you want a car you can count on over time. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about durability and more about choosing a trim and powertrain that match your expectations.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Toyota Camry?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LE starts the lineup, while the TRD adds a more aggressive body kit, 19-inch wheels, red brake calipers, and a sportier look. The TRD is based on the SE, so it can feel less upscale inside than pricier versions.
• Powertrain: You can choose a four-cylinder engine, a V6, or a fuel-efficient gas-electric hybrid powertrain. The TRD uses a 3.5-litre V6 with 301 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic and front-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Every Camry has Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+, including adaptive cruise control and lane-centring assistance. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on the TRD and XSE, but optional on LE and SE.
• Infotainment: The standard screen is 7 inches, while XSE and TRD models get a 9-inch touchscreen. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and SiriusXM are included, but wireless smartphone integration is not mentioned.
• Fuel efficiency: The TRD is rated at 9.4 L/100 km combined, and the test result came in at 9.5 L/100 km.

Which 2022 Toyota Camry trim should I buy?

The 2022 Toyota Camry is offered in 13 trim levels: LE, SE, XLE, XSE, TRD, SE Hybrid, XLE Hybrid, XSE Hybrid, LE Hybrid, Hybrid SE, Hybrid XLE, Hybrid XSE, and XLE V6.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the entry point if you want the lowest starting price and the core Camry formula without paying for extra equipment.
• SE: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it keeps the Camry affordable while adding a more engaging feel and serving as the basis for the TRD.
• XLE: Choose this if you want a more upscale everyday Camry with a stronger comfort focus.
• XSE: This is the better pick if you want a sportier appearance and the larger 9-inch touchscreen, plus standard blind-spot monitoring.
• TRD: Pick this if you want the most performance-focused Camry, with the V6, track-tuned suspension, bigger brakes, and the most dramatic styling.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ is standard across the lineup, while blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on the TRD and XSE but optional on LE and SE.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Toyota Camry?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 21.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 109 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.69% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $26,094 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Toyota Camry's resale value?

The current average of $26,555 CAD sits slightly below last year's $28,767 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper resale upside if you sell soon. If prices stay soft, future sellers may need to be more competitive to attract attention. On the other hand, the Camry’s broad appeal and strong reputation should help it remain easy to move compared with less established sedans.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.88/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Toyota Camry safe?

The 2022 Camry earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and five-star ratings in every single evaluation the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) performs.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Every Camry has Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+, which includes adaptive cruise control and lane-centring assistance. Used together, those systems create a hands-on semi-autonomous highway-driving function. Safety Connect is also standard, with automatic collision notification, an emergency assistance button, roadside assistance access, and a stolen vehicle locator.

Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on the TRD and XSE, but optional on LE and SE. The main caveat is that the lane-keeping and adaptive cruise systems can feel overly assertive or occasionally misread the road, which may bother some drivers.

Should I buy a 2022 Toyota Camry or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 21.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.69% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.88/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines a stylish design with strong safety, reliability, efficiency, and value.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $24,137 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $26,555 CAD average.
• It offers a broad lineup with multiple powertrains and available all-wheel drive.

The 2022 is the better pick if you want the stronger current-market value story and the same core Camry strengths with a more up-to-date ownership picture. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2021 is the smarter budget alternative, especially if you want a familiar, easy-to-live-with sedan.
