Used 2022 Nissan Sentra for Sale nearPeterborough, ON

How much does the 2022 Nissan Sentra cost?

Prices have softened 11.68% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 278 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Nissan Sentra a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Nissan Sentra earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

It is a well-rounded compact sedan that aims to be competent and affordable rather than flashy, and it benefits from being part of a newer generation after the 2020 redesign. That makes it a sensible entry-point choice if you want a current-feeling small sedan without chasing a single standout gimmick.

The market also shows 29.1% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Nissan Sentra reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Sentra is described as a competent, affordable compact sedan with few, if any, shortcomings, and its newer-generation status helps it feel more current than older carryover models. Its powertrain is presented as consistent rather than exciting, but it delivers solid low-end acceleration, good highway manners, and a generally composed driving experience.

The Sentra is backed by a five-year/100,000-kilometre powertrain warranty, which adds some reassurance for used buyers. For long-term ownership, the main risk is less about major flaws and more about whether the car’s modest performance and comfort-focused character match your expectations.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Nissan Sentra?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base S trim gives you the essentials, including a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 4.2-inch driver’s display, while the SV adds an 8-inch screen, alloy wheels, proximity keyless entry, dual-zone climate control, and more convenience features. The SR adds 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, remote start, sport cloth seats, and a more aggressive appearance, so it suits you best if you want the most upscale look and extra equipment.
• Powertrain: Every Sentra uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with 149 horsepower and 146 pound-feet of torque. In Canada, a six-speed manual is standard and a CVT is available, and the setup is described as consistent, with solid low-end acceleration and good highway behaviour rather than standout performance.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assistance features include forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, driver drowsiness monitoring, lane-departure warning, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Higher-spec test equipment also included a surround-view parking monitor and adaptive cruise control.
• Infotainment: The base system uses a 7-inch touchscreen, while the SV and SR get an 8-inch unit. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, but wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not offered.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada-rated fuel consumption is 9.2 L/100 km city, 6.2 highway, and 7.9 combined with the manual transmission, while the CVT uses 8.0 L/100 km city, 6.0 highway, and 7.1 combined. In SR form, those figures rise to 9.4/6.4/8.1 with the manual and 8.2/6.1/7.3 with the CVT.

Which 2022 Nissan Sentra trim should I buy?

The 2022 Nissan Sentra is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SV, and SR.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the value play if you want the lowest-cost way into the Sentra lineup. You still get the core tech and safety basics, including the 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the standard driver-assistance suite.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the 8-inch touchscreen, alloy wheels, proximity keyless entry, dual-zone climate control, and a more polished cabin feel without jumping to the top of the range.
• SR: Choose this if you want the most distinctive look and the most equipment, including 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, remote start, sport cloth seats, and unique exterior detailing.

The standard safety package is strong across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get a solid set of driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Nissan Sentra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 278 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.68% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,813 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Nissan Sentra's resale value?

The current average of $18,947 CAD sits slightly below last year's $21,452 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Sentra has moved into a more buyer-friendly position, which can make it easier for future sellers to compete on value. If you own one, you may need to price it carefully to stand out, especially if similar listings remain plentiful. The good news is that a newer-generation compact sedan with broad appeal can still attract steady interest when it is priced in line with the market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Nissan Sentra safe?

The Sentra earns a best overall score of five out of five stars in testing by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave it its highest rating of "Good" across all crash testing, along with a "Top Safety Pick" award.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, driver drowsiness monitoring, lane-departure warning, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Higher-spec test equipment also included a surround-view parking monitor and adaptive cruise control.

One caveat is that the adaptive cruise control can brake abruptly when it reaches the vehicle ahead, and the IIHS noted lower headlight ratings even though the Sentra still earned a Top Safety Pick award.

Should I buy a 2022 Nissan Sentra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.68% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It benefits from being part of the newer-generation Sentra introduced after the 2020 redesign, which gives it a more current feel.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $17,475 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $18,947 CAD average.
• It blends style, efficiency, technology and performance in a way that makes it feel like a smart choice rather than a compromise.

The bottom line: If you want the more current-feeling Sentra and are comfortable paying a bit more, the 2022 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2021 is the smarter value play, especially if you find one in good condition with the features you want.
