CarGurus Analysis: 2022 Nissan Murano
Summary
With 18 currently listed for sale and an average price of $27,600 CAD, 27.8% of 2022 Nissan Murano listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2022 Nissan Murano 5 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2022 Nissan Murano stands out as a comfort-focused midsize SUV with a distinctly upscale feel for the class. By this point in the third generation, it had moved well beyond the Murano’s earlier sporty roots and leaned into a smoother, more refined character. Its 3.5-litre V6 produced 260 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque, and the CVT was described as noticeably better than others of its type, with quicker responses than competing CVTs even if it still felt like a step down from a traditional automatic. It could reach 100 km/h in roughly 7.5 seconds, which was quick for the class, and its handling was tuned more for comfort than for excitement.
Inside, the Murano’s appeal came from a cabin that prioritised design and quality. The interior used fewer physical buttons and knobs than before, creating a cleaner, more minimal look, while the front seats were more spacious. Buyers also got a useful spread of equipment depending on trim, including features such as a panoramic sunroof, Bose audio, a surround-view camera system, heated rear seats, and ventilated front seats on higher trims. The Murano’s safety story was also strong: the IIHS gave it top marks in all tests and named it a Top Safety Pick+ for the first two years of production, while the NHTSA awarded five stars for side crash protection and four stars for overall and other evaluations.
There are a few trade-offs to keep in mind. The rear seats lost more than five centimetres of legroom, and the cargo area, at up to 931 litres, was still somewhat small for a midsize SUV. Fuel economy was respectable rather than class-leading, with NRCan estimates of 10.2 to 10.6 L/100 km combined in later model years. Even so, the 2022 Nissan Murano remained distinctive for shoppers who wanted a comfortable, well-equipped crossover with a more premium atmosphere than many rivals.

Very roomy front seating. I am 6 feet 5 inches, and finding a vehicle that has enough leg room is tough, but the Murano has more than even I need. Seats are wide and comfortable, and itis a pleasure to drive. This was a great purchase decision.

I was looking for a mid size SUV for my wife. We found the Murano Platinum perfect. Better reliability than a Mercedes and in my opinion road far better. The Nissan Murano is made in Mississippi and was running a rebate. Not like other imports that are jacked up above MSRP. Nissan hasn’t hit the Murano with their new updates but I am fearful that when they do we will lose that awesome V6 for some short lived turbo.

On the other hand, a lower entry price can help you buy in at a more attractive point, which may support your overall ownership value if you keep the vehicle for a while. The Murano’s comfort-focused appeal and upscale cabin should continue to help it attract shoppers who want a refined midsize SUV.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2022 Nissan Murano or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2022 if:
- 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.00% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want a comfortable, upscale-feeling midsize SUV and you find a well-priced 2022, it makes sense to focus your search here. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2022 is a strong choice when you want a refined cabin and a market that still offers some deal potential.
