There are 185 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

In practical terms, that lines up with the Outlander’s appeal as a fresh, modern SUV for you if you want something polished and up to date. The market also shows 28.1% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with drivers repeatedly highlighting the smooth drive and advanced features. The expert assessment also frames this Outlander as a worthwhile long-term choice if you like what you feel on the test drive, and Mitsubishi backs it with a 10-year/160,000-kilometre powertrain warranty, a five-year/100,000-kilometre standard warranty, and five years of free roadside assistance.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about durability and more about whether you can live with the driving dynamics and the tight third row and cargo area.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lower trims get 18-inch alloy wheels, while the higher grades move to 20-inch wheels. You should also note that the GT Premium adds premium semi-aniline leather, a head-up display, a premium sound system, and a power panoramic glass sunroof, so the feature gap between the lower trims and the top end is substantial.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with 181 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque, paired with a CVT and standard S-AWC AWD. It is tuned more for urban and suburban use than for strong highway passing, so you should judge whether the modest power suits your driving.
• Safety package: The Outlander includes forward collision mitigation, safe reversing, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, blind-spot warning, and rear cross-traffic alert. It also has a hands-on Level 2 driver-assist system that works with commendable refinement, smoothness, and accuracy.
• Infotainment: The 9-inch touchscreen is standard on LE and up, and it includes Bluetooth and wireless Apple CarPlay, while Android Auto requires a wire. Wireless smartphone charging is standard above the base model, and GT Premium adds a 10-speaker Bose premium audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The Outlander returned 9.4 litres per 100 kilometres in testing, against an official combined rating of 8.9 L/100 km for AWD models.

Which 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander trim should I buy?

The 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander is offered in 7 trim levels: ES, SE, LE, LE Premium, SEL, GT, and GT Premium.

Here's the short version:

• ES: This is the entry point, but you should expect the fewest features and the biggest gap versus the better-equipped trims. If you want the Outlander’s design and standard AWD at the lowest price, it gets you in the door.
• SE: This is the first step up if you want a more balanced mix of equipment without jumping too far in price. It should suit you if you want a sensible middle ground.
• LE: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the 9-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth and wireless Apple CarPlay, plus the stronger tech story that makes the Outlander feel more modern.
• LE Premium: Choose this if you want more comfort and convenience than LE without going all the way to the luxury-leaning upper trims.
• SEL: This is the better pick if you want a more upscale feel and more equipment while still staying below the GT models.
• GT: This is where the Outlander’s premium character becomes more obvious, with the 12.3-inch digital instrumentation display and a stronger overall tech presentation.
• GT Premium: Pick this if you want the most upscale Outlander experience, including the head-up display, premium sound system, premium semi-aniline leather, and panoramic glass sunroof.

The safety package is broad across the lineup, but you should still check exactly which driver-assistance features are fitted on the specific trim you’re considering.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 28.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 185 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.70% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $26,056 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander's resale value?

The current average of $26,056 CAD sits slightly below last year's $29,847 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Outlander has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. The current market is still giving shoppers some leverage, especially with a meaningful share of listings marked as good or great deals. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pain later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander safe?

The 2022 Outlander earns an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover performance.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The Outlander’s driver-assistance suite includes forward collision mitigation, safe reversing, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, blind-spot warning, and rear cross-traffic alert. Its hands-on Level 2 driver-assist system is a standout for refinement, smoothness, and accuracy, but you do need to keep your hands on the steering wheel at all times. One caveat is that headlights on units built before July 2021 receive a Poor rating.

Should I buy a 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 28.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.70% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 stands out as a redesigned, all-new Outlander that marks a return to competitiveness for Mitsubishi.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of this generation and you value the redesigned cabin, strong tech, and broad safety coverage, the 2022 is the one to target. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, you may also want to compare nearby model years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, equipment, and asking price.
