How much does the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander cost?

Prices have softened 12.33% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 177 listings available, which suggests a reasonable amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

Drivers consistently praise the smooth drive, advanced features, and stylish look. The Outlander also stands out as a fresh, modern SUV with a polished cabin and a competitive return to form for Mitsubishi. At the same time, the third row is tight and cargo space is limited when all seats are in use, so it suits you best if you want a well-equipped compact SUV and can live with those packaging compromises.

With 28.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is meaningful value on the market if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe it as smooth, advanced, and stylish, and the feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in day-to-day use. The expert assessment also highlights the Outlander as a strong all-around package with a generous warranty and free roadside assistance, which can help reduce ownership stress over time.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about whether you’ll be comfortable with the Outlander’s driving dynamics and tight third row over the years.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lower trims get 18-inch alloy wheels, while the rest move to 20-inch wheels. Higher trims add premium semi-aniline leather, a head-up display, a premium sound system, and a power panoramic glass sunroof, so you should decide whether those upgrades matter enough to justify the jump.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with 181 horsepower and a CVT paired with Mitsubishi’s Super All-Wheel Control AWD system. It is most responsive around town, but it can feel short on reserve power when you merge, pass, or climb hills.
• Safety package: The Outlander includes forward collision mitigation, safe reversing, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, blind-spot warning, and rear cross-traffic alert. It also uses a hands-on Level 2 driver-assist system that works with commendable refinement, smoothness, and accuracy.
• Infotainment: The 9-inch touchscreen is standard on LE and up, and it includes Bluetooth and wireless Apple CarPlay. Android Auto requires a wire. Wireless smartphone charging is standard on all Outlanders above the base model.
• Fuel efficiency: The Outlander returned 9.4 L/100 km on the test route, compared with an official combined rating of 8.9 L/100 km for AWD models.

Which 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander trim should I buy?

The 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander is offered in 7 trim levels: ES, SE, LE, LE Premium, SEL, GT, and GT Premium.

Here's the short version:

• ES: This is the entry point, but you should mainly consider it if you want the lowest-cost way into the redesigned Outlander and are comfortable giving up the richer equipment found higher up the range.
• SE: This trim adds more of the Outlander’s core appeal while staying relatively accessible, making it a sensible step up if you want a better balance of equipment and value.
• LE: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it brings the 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth and wireless Apple CarPlay, plus the broader technology package that makes the Outlander feel modern.
• LE Premium: Choose this if you want a more upscale feel without going all the way to the top trims, especially if you value added comfort and appearance upgrades.
• SEL: This trim is for you if you want a more premium overall experience and are willing to pay for extra refinement and features.
• GT: This is the trim to target if you want the strongest mix of technology and luxury touches, including the 12.3-inch digital instrumentation display.
• GT Premium: Pick this if you want the most fully equipped Outlander, with the head-up display, premium sound system, premium semi-aniline leather, and the most upscale cabin presentation.

The safety package is broad across the range, but the steering-assist system can feel intrusive when it is not actively managing the vehicle.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you have room to compare listings and wait for the right example.

• Deal availability: 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 177 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.33% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $25,572 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander's resale value?

The current average of $25,572 CAD sits slightly below last year's $29,168 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Outlander has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can be helpful if you are buying now and planning to keep it for a while. For a future seller, the softer market means you may not recover as much as you paid if you sell soon, especially if the vehicle is not in especially strong condition or well equipped.

The current pricing also indicates that the model is still actively traded, which can help support resale interest when you eventually list it. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander safe?

The 2022 Outlander earns an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four-star ratings on frontal crash and rollover performance.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The Outlander includes forward collision mitigation, safe reversing, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, blind-spot warning, and rear cross-traffic alert. It also has a hands-on Level 2 driver-assist system that works with commendable refinement, smoothness, and accuracy.

One caveat is that headlights on units built before July 2021 receive a Poor rating from IIHS, so build date matters when you are shopping used.

Should I buy a 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.33% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It is a redesigned, all-new model that brings a more competitive package, strong technology, and a polished cabin.

The bottom line: If you want the redesigned Outlander and value its modern features, the 2022 is the right year to focus on. If your priority is stretching your budget, you may want to compare nearby model years and shop for the best-priced example with the equipment you need.
