How much does the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class cost?

Prices have softened 9.48% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 162 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

It stands out as a more upscale take on the compact luxury sedan formula, with S-Class-inspired design cues, a stylish cabin, and strong technology content. It also aims to be a relatively attainable way into the Mercedes-Benz brand, which makes it appealing if you want luxury-car presence without moving up to a larger sedan.

The trade-offs are worth weighing: the transmission can be irritating, and performance is described as sluggish. Even so, the combination of great ride quality and impressive technology makes it a compelling choice if comfort and cabin polish matter more to you than outright pace.

With 34.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is positioned as a refined, technology-forward luxury sedan, and its expert assessment supports that impression. The powertrain is described as having some rough edges, but the ride quality is strong and the cabin presentation is upscale. The 48-volt mild-hybrid setup is part of the efficiency and refinement story, even if the driving experience is not perfectly polished.

Mercedes also includes a four-year, 80,000-kilometre basic warranty that covers the powertrain, which helps reduce early ownership risk. For used buyers, the main long-term concern is less about outright durability and more about whether the example you choose has been maintained well and is free of the drivetrain and software annoyances noted in testing.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The standard C300 sedan already brings a strong luxury feel, with LED headlights and taillights, a freestanding touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, and a cabin that borrows heavily from Mercedes’ flagship design language. The standard synthetic leather upholstery is a reminder that some premium touches are still optional, so check whether the example you’re considering has the upgrades you want.
• Powertrain: The C300 uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system and a nine-speed automatic. It delivers solid output, but the test drive noted turbo lag, rough shifts, and a transmission that can hold gears too long.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency brake assist, blind-spot monitoring with safe exit assist, a driver-attention monitor, park assist, Pre-Safe, and Pre-Safe Sound. Optional upgrades include lane-keep assist, evasive steering assist, a 360-degree camera system, dash cam, and two versions of Distronic adaptive cruise control.
• Infotainment: You get a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and an 11.9-inch touchscreen, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. The MBUX system and Zero Layer layout are major strengths, and the available augmented-reality navigation system is worth seeking out if you want the most advanced setup.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates the C300 at 9.9 L/100 km in the city, 7.1 L/100 km on the highway, and 8.6 L/100 km combined. In testing, it averaged 9.4 L/100 km.

Which 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class trim should I buy?

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is offered in 1 trim level: C300.

Here's the short version:

The C300 is the trim to focus on because it already delivers the core C-Class experience: upscale styling, a strong standard tech package, and a good amount of safety equipment. It is the best-value choice if you want the redesigned C-Class without chasing optional extras, especially since the standard cabin and infotainment setup are already well equipped.

The standard safety package is a meaningful part of the appeal, so make sure any used example still includes the driver-assistance features you expect.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the right example.

• Deal availability: 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 162 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.48% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $41,564 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class's resale value?

The current average of $42,849 CAD sits slightly below last year's $47,334 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face more competition if values continue to ease. If you buy at the right price now, you may have less downside than someone who purchased when prices were higher.

The C-Class still has the kind of brand appeal and premium cabin presentation that can help support demand over time. Well-equipped examples with strong condition and desirable options should remain easier to move than stripped-down cars.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
