How much does the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class cost?

Prices have softened 12.18% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating, which points to a strong overall showing for shoppers who want a compact luxury sedan with a more premium feel than its entry-level positioning might suggest. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

It stands out for its S-Class-inspired design direction, upscale cabin presentation, and impressive technology, while standard 4Matic all-wheel drive in Canada broadens its appeal if you want extra traction. The main trade-offs are an irritating transmission and sluggish performance, so you should value comfort, brand prestige, and tech more than outright speed.

There are 32.9% good or great deals in the market, which gives you some room to find a well-priced example.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The C-Class is positioned as a premium compact sedan with standard all-wheel drive in Canada, and its expert evaluation highlights a strong mix of comfort, technology, and upscale design. The powertrain is described as sufficiently powerful, but the delivery can feel delayed and the transmission can be rough at times, which is worth keeping in mind if you plan to live with the car every day.

Mercedes also backs the car with a four-year, 80,000-kilometre basic warranty that covers the powertrain, which helps reduce early ownership risk. For used buyers, the main long-term concern is making sure the transmission and electronics behave as expected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The standard C300 sedan already brings a stylish exterior, a baby S-Class interior theme, LED headlights and taillights, and standard MBTex synthetic leather upholstery, while Nappa leather seats are available if you want a more upscale cabin.
• Powertrain: The C300 uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a nine-speed automatic transmission and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system; it produces 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, but the power delivery can feel delayed and the transmission can shift roughly.
• Safety package: The standard suite includes automatic emergency brake assist, blind-spot monitoring with safe exit assist, a driver-attention monitor, park assist, Pre-Safe, and Pre-Safe Sound. Optional upgrades include lane-keep assist, evasive steering assist, a 360-degree camera system, dash cam, and two levels of Distronic adaptive cruise control.
• Infotainment: Even a no-option car gets a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and an 11.9-inch touchscreen, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The MBUX system, Zero Layer layout, and voice recognition are major strengths, and augmented-reality navigation is available.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates the C300 at 9.9 L/100 km in city driving, 7.1 L/100 km on the highway, and 8.6 L/100 km combined. In testing, it averaged 9.4 L/100 km.

Which 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class trim should I buy?

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is offered in 1 trim level: C300 4Matic.

Here's the short version:

The C300 4Matic is the one to focus on because it already includes the core C-Class formula: standard all-wheel drive in Canada, a strong technology package, and the upscale design that defines this generation. It also gives you the best balance of standard equipment and value, especially if you want the car’s luxury feel without chasing expensive option packages.

The safety package is a real strength here, since the standard equipment list already includes automatic emergency brake assist, blind-spot monitoring with safe exit assist, a driver-attention monitor, park assist, Pre-Safe, and Pre-Safe Sound.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile examples.

• Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 173 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.18% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $41,007 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class's resale value?

The current average of $41,007 CAD sits slightly below last year's $46,696 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the car more attractive to you as a buyer but less favourable if you’re planning to sell soon. If you own one, the softer pricing means you may need to be more patient to get top dollar. Well-equipped examples with the right condition and mileage should still draw interest, especially because the model has strong brand appeal and a premium image.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.18% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It marks the redesigned move upmarket, with S-Class-inspired styling, standard 4Matic all-wheel drive in Canada, and a strong emphasis on technology.

The bottom line: If you want the most up-to-date C-Class design direction and standard all-wheel drive, the 2022 is the right path to follow. If your priority is stretching your budget, a nearby year may be worth considering, but the 2022’s softer pricing and strong equipment make it a compelling used buy.
