Used 2022 Mazda MAZDA3 for Sale nearWindsor, ON

How much does the 2022 Mazda MAZDA3 cost?

Prices have softened 9.54% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 164 listings available, which suggests a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Mazda MAZDA3 a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 5/5, and the expert rating is 7.67/10. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise the comfortable, luxurious interior, impressive handling, and strong performance, especially with the turbo engine. The car also earns credit for its technology and available Bose stereo system, while its stylish design helps it feel more premium than many compact-car rivals.

The trade-offs are familiar ones: the back seat is cramped, and the technology can be unintuitive. Even so, the MAZDA3 makes sense if you want a compact car that prioritises style, driving enjoyment, and value over maximum practicality.

Listings availability is healthy, with 28.7% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2022 Mazda MAZDA3 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free feel, with praise for the car’s comfortable cabin and strong overall ownership experience. The expert assessment also supports that impression by describing the car as one you can trust when driven hard, with a calm, composed character and solid day-to-day behaviour.

Mazda Connected Services is complimentary for two years of ownership, which adds some ownership convenience. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic durability and more about living with the car’s less-friendly technology and, on turbo models, the demands of frequent fuel stops.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mazda MAZDA3?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup spans sedan and hatchback body styles, with three trim levels in each. Base versions are the most affordable, but they leave out much of the advanced safety equipment that you may want to have.
• Powertrain: You can find a 2.0-litre four-cylinder, a 2.5-litre four-cylinder, and a turbocharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder. The base engine is the most fuel-conscious, while the turbo adds the strongest performance but uses more fuel.
• Safety package: Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard, while adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights cost extra. GT grades add adaptive front headlights, Traffic Jam Assist, reverse automatic braking, and a surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: Mazda Connect uses an 8.8-inch static display, Bluetooth, steering wheel controls, and voice recognition. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can help offset the system’s less intuitive operation, and Mazda Connected Services is included for two years.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.0-litre engine uses 7.6 L/100 km combined, or 7.7 L/100 km with the manual. The 2.5-litre non-turbo ranges from 7.8 to 8.6 L/100 km combined, while the turbo uses 8.8 L/100 km in sedan form or 8.9 L/100 km in hatchback form.

Which 2022 Mazda MAZDA3 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Mazda MAZDA3 is offered in 3 trim levels: GX, GS, GT.

Here's the short version:

• GX: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest purchase price and the base 2.0-litre engine. It is the simplest choice, but you give up much of the richer equipment and safety content found higher up the range.
• GS: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it sits in the middle of the lineup and gives you a more balanced mix of equipment and everyday usability. If you want the sweet spot between price and features, this is the one to focus on.
• GT: This is the trim to choose if you want the most complete equipment list, including the extra safety and convenience features mentioned in the test drive notes. It suits you best if you want the most premium-feeling MAZDA3 experience.

GT grades get adaptive front headlights that swivel when you turn the steering wheel, plus Traffic Jam Assist, reverse automatic braking, and a surround-view camera system.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mazda MAZDA3?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 164 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.54% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $22,607 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Mazda MAZDA3's resale value?

The current average of $22,620 CAD sits slightly below last year's $25,004 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can make the car more attractive to used buyers today. For a future seller, it means you may not see the same pricing strength that was present a year ago, especially if the market stays soft.

Even so, the MAZDA3’s strong owner satisfaction and premium feel should help it remain appealing to shoppers who want a compact car with style and substance.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Mazda MAZDA3 safe?

The 2022 Mazda MAZDA3 earns five-star ratings in every NHTSA assessment, including rollover resistance, and the IIHS names it a Top Safety Pick+.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard, while adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights are extra. GT grades add adaptive front headlights, Traffic Jam Assist, reverse automatic braking, and a surround-view camera system.

Should I buy a 2022 Mazda MAZDA3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.54% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• This year adds a new Platinum Quartz Metallic paint colour.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $21,398 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $22,620 CAD average.
• It adds turbocharged performance to Mazda’s compact-car lineup.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $25,252 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $22,620 CAD average.
• It brings a more upscale feel and added hatchback usefulness.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the right pick if you want the strongest mix of value, safety, and desirability at today’s pricing. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2021 is the better budget play; if you want a newer-feeling cabin and can spend more, the 2023 is worth a look.
