How much does the 2022 Mazda MAZDA3 cost?

Prices have softened 9.11% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 169 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of choice in the used market.

Is the 2022 Mazda MAZDA3 a good car?

Yes — owners give it 5/5, and our experts score it 7.7/10. The expert test drive rating is 7.7/10, which lines up with its strong appeal as a compact car that feels more premium than many mainstream rivals. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

Owners repeatedly praise the comfortable and luxurious interior, impressive handling, and strong performance, especially with the turbo engine. The car also gets positive attention for its Bose stereo system and overall feature set.

The trade-offs are clear: poor fuel economy and an unintuitive technology interface are the main drawbacks. For you, that means the MAZDA3 makes the most sense if you value style, driving enjoyment, and a more upscale cabin over maximum practicality.

With 36.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still decent market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. Owners also describe it as dependable in the way it delivers a comfortable, luxurious interior and a driving experience they can count on. The expert assessment reinforces that sense of durability and confidence, noting that the car’s safety systems behave as expected and inspire trust.

Mazda Connect’s connected services are complimentary for two years of ownership, which adds some ownership convenience. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic dependability and more about living with the car’s frustrating technology and fuel consumption over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mazda MAZDA3?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup spans sedan and hatchback body styles, with three trim levels in each. Base versions are more limited, while GT grades add adaptive front headlights, Traffic Jam Assist, reverse automatic braking, and a surround-view camera system.

• Safety package: Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard, while adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights cost extra. GT grades add more advanced safety equipment.
• Infotainment: Mazda Connect uses an 8.8-inch static display, Bluetooth, steering wheel controls, and voice recognition. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported, and Mazda Connected Services adds remote functions for two years.
• Fuel efficiency: The base 2.0-litre engine uses 7.6 L/100 km combined, or 7.7 L/100 km with the manual. The 2.5-litre engine ranges from 7.8 to 8.6 L/100 km combined, while the turbocharged version uses 8.8 L/100 km in the sedan and 8.9 L/100 km in the hatchback.

Which 2022 Mazda MAZDA3 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Mazda MAZDA3 is offered in 3 trim levels: GX, GT, and turbo.

Here's the short version:

• GX: This is the most affordable way into the MAZDA3, and it gives you the base 2.0-litre engine plus the car’s core style and safety foundation. It suits you if you want the lowest entry price and can live without the richer equipment found higher up.
• GT: This is the best-value trim if you want the strongest mix of equipment and safety upgrades without going all the way to the turbo model. It adds adaptive front headlights, Traffic Jam Assist, reverse automatic braking, and a surround-view camera system.
• turbo: This is the one to choose if you care most about performance and all-wheel drive. It delivers the strongest engine output and the most premium driving experience, but it also comes with the highest fuel-consumption penalty.

Safety features are not fully standard across the lineup, so make sure the specific trim you’re considering includes the driver-assistance equipment you want.
