Used 2022 Mazda MAZDA3 for Sale nearSt Catharines, ON

How much does the 2022 Mazda MAZDA3 cost?

Prices have softened 8.50% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 160 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Mazda MAZDA3 a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Mazda MAZDA3 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise the comfortable, luxurious interior, impressive handling, and strong performance, especially with the turbo engine. Many also like the technology and the Bose stereo system. In use-case terms, this is a compact car that leans into style, driving enjoyment, and a more premium feel rather than maximum practicality.

The main trade-offs are its poor fuel economy and cramped back seat, and the technology can be unintuitive. Even so, the model’s overall value proposition remains strong for shoppers who care more about refinement and driving character than outright space. With 32.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity.

Is the 2022 Mazda MAZDA3 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners’ feedback points to a car that feels comfortable, luxurious, and strong over time, with many describing it as impressive and enjoyable to live with. The expert evaluation also highlights the Mazda3’s calm, composed behaviour and the way it inspires trust through its smooth ride, nimble handling, and faithful steering response.

Mazda Connect’s two-year complimentary connected-services plan adds remote engine start, a car-finder function, and automatic emergency notification after a collision, which can help ownership feel more convenient. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about durability and more about living with the car’s fuel consumption and technology quirks.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mazda MAZDA3?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup spans sedan and hatchback body styles, with three trim levels in each. Base versions are the most affordable, but they also leave more of the safety and convenience equipment as extras, so you should check carefully which features are included before you buy.
• Powertrain: You can find a 2.0-litre four-cylinder, a non-turbocharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder, and a turbocharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder. The base engine is the efficiency play, while the turbo version delivers the strongest performance but uses more fuel.
• Safety package: Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are included, while adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights are extra on many versions. GT grades add adaptive front headlights, Traffic Jam Assist, reverse automatic braking, and a surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: Mazda Connect uses an 8.8-inch static display with Bluetooth, steering wheel controls, and voice recognition. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can help offset some of the system’s usability frustrations, and Mazda Connected Services is complimentary for two years.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.0-litre engine uses 7.6 L/100 km combined, or 7.7 L/100 km with the manual. The non-turbo 2.5-litre ranges from 7.8 to 8.6 L/100 km combined, while the turbo version is rated at 8.8 L/100 km in the sedan and 8.9 L/100 km in the hatchback.

Which 2022 Mazda MAZDA3 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Mazda MAZDA3 is offered in 3 trim levels: GX, GS, GT.

Here's the short version:

• GX: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Mazda3 lineup. It gives you the base 2.0-litre engine and the core Mazda3 experience, but you should expect fewer standard features than the higher trims.
• GS: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it balances equipment, drivability, and price more effectively than the base model. It is the trim to focus on if you want a more complete Mazda3 without stretching to the top end.
• GT: Choose this if you want the most advanced safety and convenience equipment, including adaptive front headlights, Traffic Jam Assist, reverse automatic braking, and a surround-view camera system.

Safety features are not fully standard across the lineup, so verify exactly which driver-assistance items are included on the trim you are considering.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mazda MAZDA3?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough price softness to create opportunities.

• Deal availability: 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 160 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.50% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $22,723 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Mazda MAZDA3's resale value?

The current average of $22,773 CAD sits slightly below last year's $24,889 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to be realistic about expectations. If you buy now, you are starting from a lower price base than last year, which can help cushion depreciation if the car remains desirable. The Mazda3’s strong owner satisfaction should help support demand, especially for well-kept examples with the right equipment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Mazda MAZDA3 safe?

The 2022 Mazda MAZDA3 earns a Top Safety Pick+ from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and five-star ratings in every assessment from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, including rollover resistance.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard, while adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights are available on many versions rather than standard across the board. GT grades add adaptive front headlights, Traffic Jam Assist, reverse automatic braking, and a surround-view camera system. The main caveat is that several desirable safety features require moving up the trim ladder.

Should I buy a 2022 Mazda MAZDA3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.50% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• This year adds a new Platinum Quartz Metallic paint colour.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $21,419 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $22,773 CAD average.
• It introduced the turbocharged Mazda3, adding a more performance-focused character.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $25,194 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $22,773 CAD average.
• It leans harder into upscale comfort and hatchback usefulness.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the best all-around choice if you want the strongest mix of value, safety, and desirability. If your priority is saving money, the 2021 is the better budget play; if you want a more upscale-feeling small car and can spend more, the 2023 is worth a look.
