Is the 2022 Lincoln Navigator a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 5/5 user-rated SUV with an 8.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 10/10.

The 2022 Navigator is aimed at you if you want a full-size luxury SUV with a classically elegant design, robust towing capacity, and comfort across all three rows. Lincoln also updated the styling, comfort, technology, safety, and driving dynamics for this model year, which helps keep it competitive against newer rivals.

The market also shows 24.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Lincoln Navigator reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Navigator’s appeal is reinforced by its comfort-first mission and the way Lincoln updated it for 2022 with changes to styling, technology, safety, and driving dynamics. The twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 and 10-speed automatic are presented as a robust combination, and the revised brake booster addresses the softer brake feel noted previously.

Lincoln also includes ownership perks such as valet service when it’s time for maintenance, which helps reduce some day-to-day ownership friction. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is the cost and complexity that come with a large luxury SUV.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Lincoln Navigator?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Canadian lineup is simplified to a single well-equipped Reserve trim, so your main job is checking how the truck is equipped rather than comparing multiple trim ladders. The cabin brings quality materials, mid-century modern design, Constellation displays, and a 13.2-inch touchscreen, while the standard 22-inch wheels and the updated exterior styling are part of the 2022 refresh.
• Powertrain: You get a twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 with a 10-speed automatic and standard four-wheel drive in Canada. It delivers 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque, with towing capacity ranging between 3,674 and 3,765 kilograms depending on wheelbase and drivetrain selection.
• Safety package: The Navigator adds Intersection Assist, Active Park Assist 2.0, and ActiveGlide, and a surround-view camera system is newly standard. ActiveGlide is Lincoln’s hands-free highway driving technology, while Intersection Assist can automatically brake in unsafe turning situations and Active Park Assist 2.0 can handle parallel and perpendicular parking.
• Infotainment: The Sync 4 system uses a 13.2-inch touchscreen, supports wireless-style smartphone integration through Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and includes over-the-air update capability. It also offers two data panels, physical climate controls, and clear, easy-to-use buttons.
• Fuel efficiency: The Navigator 4WD should use 13.2 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving, and the test vehicle averaged 12.6 L/100 km.

Which 2022 Lincoln Navigator trim should I buy?

The 2022 Lincoln Navigator is offered in 1 trim level: Reserve.

Here's the short version:

• Reserve: This is the only Canadian trim, so it’s automatically the one to buy if you want a 2022 Navigator. It bundles the big 13.2-inch Sync 4 screen, standard four-wheel drive, the twin-turbo V6, and the refreshed luxury cabin, making it the clear choice for shoppers who want the full Navigator experience without having to climb a trim ladder.

The safety package is also straightforward here: Reserve gets the new driver-assistance additions, including Intersection Assist, Active Park Assist 2.0, ActiveGlide, and the surround-view camera system.

What is the 2022 Lincoln Navigator's resale value?

The current average of $61,578 CAD sits slightly below last year's $72,696 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Navigator more attractive to used buyers than it was a year ago. For a future seller, that also means you may face a softer resale environment than owners saw previously, especially if inventory stays available. Well-equipped luxury SUVs can still hold attention when they’re clean, properly maintained, and priced competitively.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Lincoln Navigator or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 24.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.29% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Lincoln’s 2022 refresh updates styling, comfort, technology, safety, and driving dynamics.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $53,271 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $61,578 CAD average.
• It feels like a luxury apartment, with comfort-focused seating and a more modern redesign.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $71,298 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $61,578 CAD average.
• It adds strong truck-based capability, spacious third-row comfort, and impressive technology.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of updated features and current-market pricing, the 2022 is the smart default. If your priority is lower purchase cost, the 2021 is the value play; if you want a newer-feeling Navigator and can spend more, the 2023 is the step up.
