Is the 2022 Lexus NX a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Lexus NX earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

The redesigned NX is aimed at a young, affluent, diverse, and tech-savvy buyer, and its appeal comes from a more modern look, a more dynamic feel, and a stronger technology focus than the model it replaces. That makes it a good fit if you want a premium SUV that feels current rather than conservative.

The market also shows 25.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Lexus NX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 NX is presented as a more attractive, more dynamic, and more technologically advanced SUV than the one it replaces, while still fitting the Lexus luxury brief. Its brand direction also emphasises electrification, advanced technology, and Lexus Driving Signature tuning, which supports the impression of a well-developed redesign.

The turbocharged powertrain is described as more rewarding than the base NX 250, and the overall evaluation says the new NX is a dynamic improvement over the previous model. Lexus also includes maintenance reminders through Service Connect, which can help you stay on top of routine upkeep.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the model’s heavy reliance on integrated technology means you should verify that all infotainment, connected services, and driver-assistance features work properly before you buy.

Which 2022 Lexus NX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Lexus NX is offered in 4 trim levels: base, Premium, F Sport, and Luxury.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the entry point if you want the redesigned NX’s core technology and standard safety suite without paying for extra luxury or sport styling. It makes the most sense if you value the new cabin, standard wireless smartphone integration, and the broad safety package more than appearance upgrades.
• Premium: This is the best-value choice if you want a more upscale feel without jumping all the way to the top trims. It should suit you if you want a better-equipped NX for daily use while keeping the model’s modern tech and safety strengths.
• F Sport: Choose this if you want the sportiest look and feel in the lineup. It adds the most distinctive styling and a more aggressive cabin treatment, along with the performance-oriented suspension and drive-mode changes described in the test drive data.
• Luxury: Pick this if you want the most upscale version of the NX and are willing to pay for the richer cabin presentation. It is the trim to consider if comfort and premium materials matter more to you than value.

Safety System+ 3.0 is standard, while some additional safety features are reserved for packages.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Lexus NX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 25.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 137 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.15% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $40,913 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Lexus NX's resale value?

The current average of $42,109 CAD sits slightly below last year's $44,870 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can make the NX more attractive to used buyers today while also setting a lower starting point for future resale calculations. If you buy at the right price now, you may have less depreciation risk than someone who paid closer to the previous year’s average. The model’s strong technology and safety appeal should help keep it relevant with shoppers who want a modern luxury SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Some additional safety features are only available in packages, including rear pedestrian detection, adaptive front lighting, rain-sensing wipers, semi-autonomous parking assist with automatic braking, rear cross-traffic braking, panoramic view monitoring, front cross-traffic alert, and lane-change assistance.

Should I buy a 2022 Lexus NX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 25.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.15% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesigned NX brings a more modern look, a more dynamic character, and a much stronger technology focus than the model it replaces.

The bottom line: If you want the most modern-feeling NX in this comparison set, the 2022 is the one to target. If your priority is stretching your budget, a nearby year may offer a lower entry price, but the 2022’s redesign, safety tech, and strong owner satisfaction make it the better all-around pick for many shoppers.
