Is the 2022 Lexus NX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 NX is described as a strong step forward for Lexus, with a high-quality cabin, broad standard technology, and a design that reflects the brand’s future direction. Its expert evaluation also points to a composed, capable driving character and a well-developed safety and technology package, which are all encouraging signs for day-to-day dependability.

The powertrain and technology content suggest a vehicle built with modern systems and a lot of standard equipment, but that also means you should pay close attention to how well the infotainment, driver-assistance features, and electronic controls work on a used example. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic mechanical simplicity and more about making sure all of the advanced features are functioning as intended.

Which 2022 Lexus NX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Lexus NX is offered in 4 trim levels: base, Premium, F Sport, and Luxury.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the entry point, and it gives you the redesigned NX experience with the core technology and safety foundation. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model line and are comfortable skipping some of the more upscale extras.
• Premium: This is the best-value trim if you want a more complete luxury experience without jumping all the way to the top end. It should suit you if you want a stronger balance of equipment and price.
• F Sport: Choose this if you want the most distinctive appearance and the sportiest character. It adds the mesh-pattern grille, 20-inch wheels, sport seats, unique instrumentation, and a firmer, more athletic setup.
• Luxury: Pick this if you want the most upscale feel and are willing to pay for it. It is the trim to consider if comfort and premium presentation matter most to you.

Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard, so even lower trims get the core safety suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Lexus NX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 150 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.64% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $40,925 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Lexus NX's resale value?

The current average of $41,536 CAD sits slightly below last year's $44,489 CAD.

That softer pricing can be a good entry point for you as a buyer, but it also means a future seller may need to be realistic about expectations if the market stays competitive. The current range suggests the NX still has meaningful demand, yet the year-over-year decline shows that buyers have more leverage than they did a year ago.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Lexus NX safe?

The 2022 Lexus NX earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard, and it bundles lane keep assist, lane departure warning, dynamic radar cruise control, automatic high beams, Risk Avoidance Emergency Steer Assist, Oncoming Vehicle Detection, Oncoming Pedestrian Detection, Curve Speed Management, and Emergency Driving Stop System. You also get a standard blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, and Safe Exit Assist with digital-latch door releases.

Some additional safety features are available in packages, including rear pedestrian detection, adaptive front lighting, rain-sensing wipers, semi-autonomous parking assist with automatic braking, rear cross-traffic braking, panoramic view monitoring, front cross-traffic alert, and lane-change assistance for use with adaptive cruise control.

Should I buy a 2022 Lexus NX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.64% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 NX is presented as a more attractive, more dynamic, and more technologically advanced redesign that aligns with Lexus’s future-focused brand direction.

The bottom line: If you want the redesigned NX with its newer styling, upgraded technology, and strong safety credentials, the 2022 is the year to target. If you’re more price-sensitive, you can still shop carefully within the current market because the softer pricing and decent inventory make it possible to find a good deal without rushing.
