Is the 2022 Land Rover Range Rover Sport a good car?

With a 3/5 user rating, the 2022 Land Rover Range Rover Sport looks like a selective buy rather than a universal recommendation. It stands out as a luxury SUV that combines serious off-road ability with a high-end, performance-focused character, and it offers a lavish cabin, strong road presence, and the kind of 4x4 credibility that helps it stand apart in this class. It is also positioned as a more attainable alternative to the flagship Range Rover while still delivering premium appeal.

For shoppers who want a luxury SUV with genuine capability and a strong personality, it fits that brief well. The market also shows 28.9% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Land Rover Range Rover Sport reliable?

The 2022 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is described as an expensive used SUV to own, with reliability, service costs, and fuel consumption all working against it. Its appeal comes from its premium interior, strong performance, and real off-road hardware, but those strengths sit alongside ownership costs that can make it a difficult recommendation for some buyers.

For used buyers, the long-term risk is that maintenance and running costs can outweigh the value of the SUV’s capability if you plan to keep it for years.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you are shopping carefully.

What is the 2022 Land Rover Range Rover Sport's resale value?

The current average of $57,725 CAD sits slightly below last year's $64,429 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has moved in buyers' favour, which can help you negotiate more confidently today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may remain sensitive to mileage, condition, and maintenance history. If you buy well now and keep the SUV in strong shape, you may be better positioned when it is time to sell.

Should I buy a 2022 Land Rover Range Rover Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.40% compared with last year.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $79,639 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $57,725 CAD average.
• It brings a redesigned, sportier look and stronger performance focus.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2022 if you want the better value and are comfortable with its ownership costs. If you are price-sensitive, the 2022 is the smarter path; if you want the newer design and can stretch your budget, the 2023 is the alternative to compare.
