Used 2022 Kia Sorento for Sale nearToronto, ON

How much does the 2022 Kia Sorento cost?

Prices have softened 14.07% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 306 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for shoppers to compare.

Is the 2022 Kia Sorento a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Kia Sorento earns 4.64/5 from owners and 8.67/10 from our experts. The model scores 10/10 across Look and feel and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise its modern design, spacious interior, and family-friendly layout, including third-row seating. The overview also points to a versatile cabin and a practical setup for buyers who want a midsize SUV that can handle errands, commuting, and road trips. That said, the third row is not a major strength, so it is better suited to occasional use than regular adult duty.

With 31.4% of listings priced as good or great deals, there is still a healthy share of attractive market options.

Is the 2022 Kia Sorento reliable?

Owners rate it 4.64/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise for the Sorento’s modern design, family-friendly usefulness, and overall satisfaction over time. The expert assessment also highlights the SUV’s rock-solid construction and the sense that it is built with care, which supports confidence in long-term ownership.

Kia’s maintenance and ownership value also help the case, especially for shoppers who want a practical SUV that feels well put together. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that some versions may feel less satisfying if you expect the base model to deliver the same comfort and equipment as higher trims.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Kia Sorento?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LX+ model is the one most likely to feel short on features and comfort compared with others in the class, while the LX Premium adds a wireless phone charger and more convenience equipment. Higher trims bring more upscale touches, and the SX stands out for its premium audio and exclusive blind-view camera system.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.5-litre four-cylinder is described as unremarkable and sluggish, while the turbocharged 2.5-litre is much more satisfying and makes the Sorento feel energetic. Hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions are also part of the lineup if efficiency matters more to you.
• Safety package: The Sorento offers Junction Assist, rear-seat reminder technology, Highway Driving Assist, and a blind-view monitor that is exclusive to the SX. The available safety tech is a strength, but the blind-view camera is not available on every trim.
• Infotainment: LX+, LX Premium, X-Line, and EX use an 8-inch touchscreen, while other trims get a 10.25-inch display with navigation, satellite radio, Kia Connect services, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Wireless smartphone integration is included on the base system, while the larger screen requires a cable for app connectivity.
• Fuel efficiency: The base engine is rated at 9.7 L/100 km combined, and the turbocharged engine is rated at 9.9 L/100 km combined. The hybrid is rated at 6.6 L/100 km combined, while the plug-in hybrid returns 3.0 Le/100 km combined after 51 kilometres of electric-only driving.

Which 2022 Kia Sorento trim should I buy?

The 2022 Kia Sorento is offered in 5 trim levels: LX+, LX Premium, X-Line, EX, and SX.

Here's the short version:

• LX+: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the Sorento’s space and design at the lowest cost, but it is also the trim most likely to leave you wanting more comfort and equipment.
• LX Premium: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a wireless phone charger and more convenience without pushing you too far up the price ladder.
• X-Line: Choose this if you want a more distinctive look and a stronger presence, but note that the Canadian X-Line is a standalone mid-grade package rather than the U.S.-style package shown in some test material.
• EX: This is the trim to consider if you want a more rounded mix of equipment and value, especially if you are interested in the hybrid powertrain mentioned in the cost-effectiveness notes.
• SX: This is the most feature-rich choice, with the exclusive blind-view monitor and the 12-speaker Bose premium surround-sound system.

The safety package is a strength across the lineup, but the blind-view camera is exclusive to the SX.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Kia Sorento?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 306 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.07% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $28,110 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Kia Sorento's resale value?

The current average of $28,304 CAD sits slightly below last year's $32,939 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Sorento has become more accessible for used buyers, which can make it easier for a future seller to attract interest if the vehicle is well kept and priced competitively. The softer market also means you may not recover as much as an earlier seller would have, especially if your trim is not one of the more desirable or better-equipped versions.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.64/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Kia Sorento safe?

The 2022 Sorento earns a Top Safety Pick rating from the IIHS and a four-star overall crash-test rating from NHTSA. In frontal-impact testing, it gets four-star ratings for the driver and front passenger, and it also earns a four-star rating for rollover resistance. In all other NHTSA tests, it receives five-star ratings.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The Sorento’s safety tech includes Junction Assist, rear-seat reminder technology, and Highway Driving Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control with lane keeping assist to help maintain speed and lane position. The blind-view monitor is exclusive to the SX, so that useful feature is not standard across the lineup.

One caveat is the LED headlight result: the IIHS gives them a Poor rating, and those headlights are standard on all trims in Canada.

Should I buy a 2022 Kia Sorento or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.07% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.64/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 stands out for the arrival of the Sorento Hybrid in Canada and the debut of the Sorento Plug-in Hybrid, which broaden the lineup’s efficiency appeal.

The bottom line: The 2022 Sorento is a smart pick if you want the redesigned look, strong owner satisfaction, and the added appeal of hybrid and plug-in hybrid options. If your priority is simply the lowest possible price, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2022 is the better all-around choice if you want the most complete mix of style, efficiency, and family usefulness.
