Used 2022 Kia Seltos for Sale near Niagara Falls, ON

How much does the 2022 Kia Seltos cost?

Prices have softened 11.80% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 489 listings available, which suggests you have a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Kia Seltos a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Kia Seltos earns 4.8/5 from owners and 7.5/10 from our experts. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, smooth ride, impressive fuel economy, and easy-to-use technology. The review summary also points to strong handling and a practical, everyday-friendly character, which fits the Seltos’s role as a sensible small crossover.

The trade-offs are familiar: the transmission can be irritating, the interior materials feel cheap, and the cabin can be noisy. Even so, it makes sense if you want a spacious, straightforward SUV with a strong warranty and a low-fuss ownership experience.

With 26.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2022 Kia Seltos reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with buyers especially appreciating the Seltos for being comfortable and easy to live with over time. The expert evaluation also supports that impression by noting Kia’s strong warranty coverage and the model’s generally practical, confidence-inspiring nature.

Kia’s warranty coverage and complimentary connected services help reduce early ownership worry, which is useful if you plan to keep the vehicle for several years. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is more about drivability and cabin refinement than outright durability.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Kia Seltos?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX is the only trim without standard all-wheel drive, while the EX, EX Premium, and SX add more equipment and a more upscale feel. The base trim also misses some of the safety and convenience upgrades found higher up the range.
• Powertrain: The LX, EX, and EX Premium use a 2.0-litre four-cylinder with a CVT, while the SX gets a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. The turbo setup is more satisfying, but the CVT is the simpler choice.
• Safety package: Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard, while the EX adds forward-collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and lane-centring assist. Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and Highway Driving Assist are reserved for the SX.
• Infotainment: The standard 8-inch touchscreen includes wireless smartphone connectivity, while the 10.25-inch system starts on the EX Premium. That larger system adds navigation, connected services, satellite radio, Bluetooth for two devices, and a Bose premium sound system on the SX.
• Fuel efficiency: The SX is rated at 8.7 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving.

Which 2022 Kia Seltos trim should I buy?

The 2022 Kia Seltos is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, EX, EX Premium, and SX.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Seltos nameplate. You still get standard blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and the practical cabin space that defines the model.
• EX: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a much fuller safety package, including forward-collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and lane-centring assist.
• EX Premium: Choose this if you want the larger 10.25-inch touchscreen and the more upscale infotainment experience, along with the added convenience and tech features that come with it.
• SX: This is the trim to buy if you want the turbocharged engine, the more satisfying DCT, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, Highway Driving Assist, and the Bose premium sound system.

The safety package is strongest on the EX and above, while the SX is the only trim with the full adaptive cruise and Highway Driving Assist setup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Kia Seltos?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 26.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 489 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.80% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $21,134 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Kia Seltos's resale value?

The current average of $21,256 CAD sits slightly below last year's $24,099 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Seltos has become more accessible for used buyers, which can make it easier to move later if you price it competitively. The current market also shows that buyers are still responding to the model’s practicality and value story, which helps support demand.

If you own one, the combination of strong utility, broad appeal, and a solid reputation for satisfaction should help it remain marketable. A well-kept example with desirable equipment will likely hold buyer interest better than a stripped-down one.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Kia Seltos safe?

The 2022 Kia Seltos SX earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS, and the Seltos earns an overall four-star rating from NHTSA, missing a top five-star result because of a four-star performance in the front-passenger frontal-impact crash test.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard, and from the EX upward you also get forward-collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and lane-centring assist. The SX adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and Highway Driving Assist.

One caveat is that not every trim gets the same headlight performance, so the strongest crash-test recognition is tied to the SX and the EX Premium’s upgraded headlights.

Should I buy a 2022 Kia Seltos or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 26.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.80% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines a spacious cabin with straightforward technology and strong safety equipment.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $19,221 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $21,256 CAD average.
• It launched as an all-new model with a high-quality cabin and the latest infotainment and safety technologies.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the better pick if you want the stronger current-market value story and a well-rounded small SUV with broad appeal. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2021 is the more budget-friendly route and still delivers many of the same core strengths.

How does the 2022 Kia Seltos compare to the 2022 Hyundai Kona?

Our experts score the 2022 Kia Seltos 7.5/10 and the 2022 Hyundai Kona 7.7/10. The Kona edges ahead on expert scoring, but the Seltos counters with more listings and a slightly stronger value story in this market. You may prefer the Seltos if you want the roomier, more practical-feeling SUV, while the Kona looks a bit stronger on efficiency and deal share.
