Used 2022 Kia Seltos for Sale nearHamilton, ON

How much does the 2022 Kia Seltos cost?

Prices have softened 13.58% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 480 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Kia Seltos a good car?

Yes — with a 4.83/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating, the 2022 Kia Seltos is an easy small SUV to recommend if you want a practical daily driver. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, smooth ride, and impressive fuel economy, and they also like the easy-to-use technology and handling. The trade-offs are an irritating transmission, cheap-feeling interior materials, and a noisy cabin.

For you, that means the Seltos makes the most sense if you want a compact SUV that feels useful, comfortable, and straightforward rather than especially sporty. With 26.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2022 Kia Seltos reliable?

Owners rate it 4.83/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a vehicle that owners feel good about living with over time, especially because they value its comfort, smooth ride, and fuel economy. The expert evaluation also describes it as a good-value small SUV with a strong warranty and enough interior space for people and cargo.

Kia’s warranty coverage adds peace of mind for used buyers, and the model’s overall ownership appeal suggests it can be a sensible long-term choice if it has been maintained properly. Even so, you should pay close attention to service history and test the transmission behaviour carefully on a used example.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Kia Seltos?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX is the only trim without standard all-wheel drive, while the EX, EX Premium, and SX add more equipment and capability. The EX Premium is the point where the larger 10.25-inch infotainment system begins, and the SX is the most fully equipped version.
• Powertrain: The LX, EX, and EX Premium use a 2.0-litre four-cylinder with a CVT, while the SX upgrades to a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. The turbo setup is more satisfying, but the CVT is the simpler base choice.
• Safety package: Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard. From the EX, you also get forward-collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, Rear Occupant Alert, and Safe Exit Assist. Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and Highway Driving Assist require the SX.
• Infotainment: Lower trims get an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless smartphone connectivity. The EX Premium and SX move to a 10.25-inch system, but Apple CarPlay and Android Auto require a cable on that setup. The larger system also adds navigation, connected services, satellite radio, Bluetooth for two devices, and a Bose premium sound system on the SX.
• Fuel efficiency: The SX returned 8.7 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving during testing, matching its official Natural Resources Canada rating.

Which 2022 Kia Seltos trim should I buy?

The 2022 Kia Seltos is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, EX, EX Premium, and SX.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value-focused entry point, and it is the only trim that does not come standard with AWD. It gives you the core Seltos experience, but you give up some of the richer equipment and safety content found higher up the range.
• EX: This is the trim that adds the most important everyday upgrades, including standard AWD and the broader safety suite from the EX level. It is the best-value choice if you want a well-equipped Seltos without stretching to the top model.
• EX Premium: This trim is the gateway to the larger 10.25-inch infotainment system. If you care most about the upgraded tech experience, this is the trim to target.
• SX: This is the most powerful and most feature-rich version, with the turbocharged engine, seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, Bose audio, and the most advanced driver-assistance features. Choose it if you want the fullest Seltos experience.

The safety package is strongest on the EX and above, while the SX is the only trim with adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and Highway Driving Assist.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Kia Seltos?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 26.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 480 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.58% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $21,170 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Kia Seltos's resale value?

The current average of $21,189 CAD sits slightly below last year's $24,519 CAD.

That price decline suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy now, you may benefit from the softer market, but resale gains are likely to depend on condition, mileage, and trim choice.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.83/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Kia Seltos safe?

The 2022 Kia Seltos SX earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS, and it earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia equips the Seltos with blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert as standard equipment. From the EX trim, you also get forward-collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, Rear Occupant Alert, and Safe Exit Assist. The SX adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and Highway Driving Assist.

One important caveat is that the IIHS Top Safety Pick rating applies to the SX, while other versions do not qualify because of inferior headlight performance. NHTSA also notes a four-star result in the front-passenger frontal-impact crash test.

Should I buy a 2022 Kia Seltos or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 26.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.58% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.83/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines practical space, easy-to-use technology, and a strong warranty.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $19,511 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $21,189 CAD average.
• It offers a high-quality cabin with refined driving dynamics and plenty of cabin and cargo space.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced buy, the 2022 is the stronger pick because it benefits from softer pricing while still delivering the Seltos’s core strengths. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2021 is the better value-oriented alternative, especially if you find one in good condition with the equipment you want.
