Used 2022 Kia Seltos for Sale nearNewmarket, ON

How much does the 2022 Kia Seltos cost?

Prices have softened 14.66% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 504 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Kia Seltos a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Kia Seltos earns a 4.83/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, smooth ride, and impressive fuel economy, and they also like the advanced features and handling. In practical terms, that lines up well with its role as a small crossover SUV that is easy to recommend for everyday use, especially if you want space, user-friendly technology, and a strong warranty.

The trade-offs are the irritating transmission, cheap-feeling interior materials, and a noisy cabin. Even so, the model’s overall value proposition remains strong, and 28.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2022 Kia Seltos reliable?

Owners rate it 4.83/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers, with praise for comfort, smooth ride quality, and the kind of long-term usability that makes a compact SUV easy to live with. The expert evaluation also notes that Kia backs the Seltos with a five-year, 100,000-kilometre warranty and roadside assistance coverage, which adds confidence for used buyers.

That said, you should still check service history carefully, because any used SUV can carry maintenance or wear-and-tear risk as it ages.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Kia Seltos?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX is the most basic version, while the EX adds more standard safety equipment, and the EX Premium and SX bring more features and a more upscale feel. The base trim misses some of the upgraded equipment found higher up the range.
• Powertrain: The LX, EX, and EX Premium use a 2.0-litre four-cylinder with a CVT, while the SX gets a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. The turbo setup is more satisfying, but the CVT is the simpler choice.
• Safety package: Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard. From the EX, you also get forward-collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, Rear Occupant Alert, and Safe Exit Assist. Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and Highway Driving Assist require the SX.
• Infotainment: The standard 8-inch touchscreen offers wireless smartphone connectivity. The 10.25-inch system starts on the EX Premium and adds Bluetooth for two devices, navigation, connected services, satellite radio, and a six-speaker stereo. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are wired on the larger system.
• Fuel efficiency: The SX is rated at 8.7 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving.

Which 2022 Kia Seltos trim should I buy?

The 2022 Kia Seltos is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, EX, EX Premium, and SX.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point if you want the lowest-cost way into the Seltos, and it still includes blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and the choice of front-wheel drive or AWD. It makes sense if you want the basics and value simplicity.
• EX: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the broader safety suite, including forward-collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, Rear Occupant Alert, and Safe Exit Assist. It also keeps the practical 2.0-litre powertrain.
• EX Premium: Choose this if you want the larger 10.25-inch infotainment system, plus the added convenience and tech upgrades that come with it. It is the right middle ground if you care more about features than performance.
• SX: This is the most powerful and most feature-rich version, with the turbocharged 1.6-litre engine, seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, Bose premium sound system, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go plus Highway Driving Assist. It suits you best if you want the top equipment and the strongest drivetrain.

The EX Premium is the point where the upgraded headlights and infotainment hardware begin, while the SX is the only trim with the full adaptive cruise and Highway Driving Assist setup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Kia Seltos?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 28.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 504 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.66% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $21,203 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Kia Seltos's resale value?

The current average of $21,206 CAD sits slightly below last year's $24,848 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can be good news if you are buying now but less favourable if you plan to sell soon. A softer market usually means future sellers may need to price more competitively to attract attention.

Even so, the Seltos still has appeal because it combines practical space, useful technology, and a strong warranty. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.83/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Kia Seltos safe?

The 2022 Kia Seltos SX earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS, and the Seltos earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia equips the Seltos with blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert as standard equipment. From the EX trim, you also get forward-collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, Rear Occupant Alert, and Safe Exit Assist. The SX adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability and Highway Driving Assist.

One important caveat is that the IIHS Top Safety Pick result applies to the SX, while other versions do not qualify because of inferior headlight performance.

Should I buy a 2022 Kia Seltos or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 28.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.66% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.83/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines practical space, easy-to-use technology, and a strong warranty.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $19,341 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $21,206 CAD average.
• It offers a high-quality cabin and refined driving dynamics.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the better pick if you want the stronger market value story, broad owner approval, and a well-rounded small SUV with useful safety and tech. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2021 is the more budget-friendly route and still delivers many of the same core strengths.
