Used 2022 Honda Passport for Sale nearCalgary, AB

How much does the 2022 Honda Passport cost?

Prices have softened 9.39% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 95 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for shoppers comparing used examples.

Is the 2022 Honda Passport a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Honda Passport earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.67/10 expert rating. The Passport is a rugged-leaning two-row midsize SUV with a light restyle, a tougher look, and a practical focus on everyday usability. It is described as fun to drive, comfortable, and roomy, with plenty of cargo space for buyers who want a five-passenger SUV without moving up to a three-row model.

The model scores 10/10 across Performance and Form and function.

The trade-offs are worth weighing: its infotainment technology is outdated, and its advanced safety features are unrefined. Even so, the Passport’s strong value proposition and outdoor-adventure positioning make it appealing if you want capability and space more than the latest tech.

Good and great deals account for 32.6% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Honda Passport reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Passport’s appeal is rooted in simple utility, a robust V6 powertrain, and a roomy, comfortable cabin. Its drivetrain is described as smooth and strong, and the SUV’s everyday usability is a major part of its long-term appeal. Honda also added a rear-seat reminder system and a seatbelt reminder system for 2022.

The Passport’s age shows up in its technology and driver-assist tuning, but that does not automatically make it a poor ownership bet. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that its older platform may continue to feel dated compared with newer rivals.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Honda Passport?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Sport is the new entry point and comes with plenty of standard equipment, while the TrailSport adds a tougher look with unique 18-inch wheels, a roof rack, simulated skid plates, orange contrast stitching, amber ambient lighting, and embroidered headrest emblems. The Touring sits at the top of the range with the most equipment.
• Powertrain: You get a 3.5-litre V6 with 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive in Canada. The V6 is described as smooth and strong, and the AWD system uses mechanical torque vectoring.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and lane-centring assist. It also includes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high-beam headlights, a rear-seat reminder system, and a seatbelt reminder system. The lane-maintenance features are less refined than many rivals.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets an 8-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Touring adds navigation, a 10-speaker premium audio system, and HondaLink connected services with WiFi hotspot access. Wireless smartphone charging is standard on all but the base Sport.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates it at 11.3 L/100 km in combined driving, and the TrailSport test vehicle averaged 11.0 L/100 km.

Which 2022 Honda Passport trim should I buy?

The 2022 Honda Passport is offered in 3 trim levels: Sport, TrailSport, and Touring.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the value-focused starting point, and it already includes the Passport’s core strengths: the V6, standard AWD, an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Honda Sensing. It is the trim to consider if you want the Passport’s space and capability without paying for extras you may not need.
• TrailSport: This is the best-value trim if you want the Passport’s new rugged styling and the most distinctive look. It adds unique wheels, a roof rack, skid-plate styling, and interior touches that make it feel more adventurous, while keeping the same core mechanical package.
• Touring: Choose this if you want the most comfort and convenience equipment, including navigation, the 10-speaker premium audio system, and HondaLink connected services with WiFi hotspot access.

Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, but its lane-departure warning and lane-centring assist functions are less polished than you might expect.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Honda Passport?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 95 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.39% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $37,780 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Honda Passport's resale value?

The current average of $38,246 CAD sits slightly below last year's $42,212 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Passport has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if prices continue to ease. The current trend points to a model that is holding value reasonably well for a midsize SUV, but not strongly enough to resist broader market pressure. If you buy at the right price now, you may reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Honda Passport safe?

The 2022 Honda Passport earns four-star ratings in frontal passenger protection and rollover resistance from NHTSA, and five-star ratings in all other NHTSA tests. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives it top ratings in most respects, but it does receive an Acceptable rating for front-passenger protection in a small overlap collision.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is the standard driver-assistance suite, and it includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high-beam headlights, a rear-seat reminder system, and a seatbelt reminder system.

The main caveat is that the lane-departure warning and lane-centring assist functions are less refined than many competitors’ systems, and the Passport does not earn top safety ratings.

Should I buy a 2022 Honda Passport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.39% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 brings the Passport’s light restyle, the new TrailSport trim name, revised wheel designs, fresh paint colours, and new safety features.

The bottom line: The 2022 Passport is the right pick if you want the refreshed look, the TrailSport trim, and a roomy, comfortable two-row SUV with strong V6 performance. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still make sense, but the 2022 is the better choice if you want the updated styling and added features without giving up the Passport’s core strengths.
