Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Ford Escape?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the best-priced examples.

• Inventory: There are 498 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.11% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $22,554 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Ford Escape's resale value?

The current average of $22,556 CAD sits slightly below last year's $25,959 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, buying near the lower end of the range gives you more room to protect your value. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Ford Escape or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.11% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $26,647 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $22,556 CAD average.
• It adds upscale design and more safety and infotainment technology.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2022 if you want the better value and more room to negotiate. If you can stretch your budget and want newer tech and a more upscale feel, the 2023 is the better secondary path.
