CarGurus Analysis: 2022 Ford Bronco Sport
Summary
With 108 currently listed for sale and an average price of $24,790 CAD, 38.9% of 2022 Ford Bronco Sport listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport 4.9 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2022 Ford Bronco Sport stands out as a compact SUV with a more rugged personality than many of its rivals. Built on the same platform as the Ford Escape, it is positioned as a light adventure vehicle with a boxy shape, generous ground clearance, and a robust all-wheel-drive system. It also has a strong practical streak, with clever touches such as a washable rubberized floor, a safari-style roof for extra cargo height, molle straps on the front seat backs, and a built-in bottle opener in the liftgate.
For 2022, the Bronco Sport’s appeal comes from its mix of everyday usability and weekend-ready capability. Standard equipment includes all-wheel drive, an eight-inch touchscreen, Sync 3, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Ford’s G.O.A.T. modes, and the Ford Co-Pilot360 safety suite. The available engine range gives buyers a choice between a 180-horsepower 1.5-litre EcoBoost and a 250-hp 2.0-litre EcoBoost, while the more off-road-focused setup adds features such as a twin-clutch rear drive unit, an advanced off-road suspension, all-terrain tyres, skid plates, front tow hooks, and up to 22.4 centimetres of ground clearance. Owners also tend to praise its handling, comfort, fuel economy, and off-road ability.
There are some trade-offs, though. The Bronco Sport’s interior materials can feel cheap, the touchscreen controls can be excessive, and its reliability record is a concern. Pricing can also be a sticking point, and some owners mention limited colour choices and interior design concerns. Even so, for buyers who want a small SUV with genuine character and more adventure credibility than the average commuter, the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport has a clear identity.

Exceeded my expectations - the car in with this trim with this engine are impressive enough. But with the added options, it’s amazing. Looks good on the road and driving experience is good.

I absolutely love, love, love my new to me car! I’m a simple kind of girl (so I’ve been told), so the heated seats, CarPlay, and reverse camera were really the only features I wanted! But, I love the “Cyber Orange” or as the my 12 year old puts it “Potassium”! 🤣

I love everything about this SUV. Body style and interior are beautifully designed. My only complaint is that you have to change the driving mode (GOAT mode) every time you start the vehicle as it defaults to normal mode always. Would love the option to keep it in economy mode if I want. However its a small annoyance for the pleasure of driving this vehicle.

| Year-Round High | $29,152 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $29,152 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −12.87% |

There are 574 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport a good car?
Yes — the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport earns a 4.9/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners repeatedly praise its handling, comfort, features, fuel economy, and off-road capability. That fits well if you want a compact SUV with everyday practicality and weekend-ready character. With 24.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport reliable?
Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
Owner feedback highlights a dependable, trouble-free feel for many drivers, with praise centred on its long-term usability, comfort, and capability. That said, used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance history and condition, since reliability concerns can affect ownership risk over time.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Ford Bronco Sport?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.
- Deal availability: 24.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 574 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 12.87% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $25,401 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport's resale value?
The current average of $25,401 CAD sits slightly below last year's $29,152 CAD.
That softer pricing can help you buy more affordably now, but it also means future resale values may face some pressure if the market stays loose. For a seller, the current trend suggests you may need to price competitively to move the vehicle. Strong demand from shoppers who want a rugged compact SUV can still support resale, especially if the vehicle is well maintained.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2022 if:
- 24.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 12.87% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2021 if:
- At $22,718 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $25,401 CAD average.
- The 2021 offers lively, capable on- and off-pavement performance.
The bottom line: Choose the 2022 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2021 is the better value-focused alternative.
