Is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.8/5, which is a strong signal that you’re looking at a truck people are generally very happy to live with. The owner feedback points to powerful performance, a smooth ride, and impressive features like the backup camera and electronic mirrors. That lines up well if you want a heavy-duty truck that still feels well equipped for everyday use, not just work duty. With 30.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you also have a decent chance of finding a competitive listing.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary suggests this truck feels dependable and trouble-free for many shoppers, especially if you value strong performance and useful features over a stripped-down work-truck experience. That kind of feedback matters in a heavy-duty pickup, where long-term ownership confidence is a big part of the decision.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the truck’s core appeal and more about finding one that has been used hard, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

It looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 30.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 140 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.60% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $55,279 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $56,600 CAD sits slightly below last year's $61,927 CAD.

That softer pricing can be helpful if you’re buying now, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays under pressure. If you plan to sell later, the current trend suggests you should focus on buying well and keeping the truck in strong condition. Heavy-duty trucks can hold appeal when they’re well maintained, but the starting price you pay still shapes your eventual resale outcome.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 30.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.60% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2022 if you want a well-liked heavy-duty truck and you can take advantage of the softer pricing in today’s market. If you’re especially price-sensitive, it’s worth comparing nearby model years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2022’s strong owner satisfaction and current deal availability.
