Is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, smooth ride, and useful features such as the backup camera and electronic mirrors. That lines up well with its heavy-duty mission: you get serious capability, a well-equipped cabin, and enough everyday usability to make it more than just a work truck. With 29.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you also have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a truck that feels dependable in daily use, with praise for its trouble-free performance, smooth ride, and features that make it easier to count on. For used buyers, that kind of satisfaction suggests lower ownership anxiety than you might expect from a large heavy-duty truck, though you should still pay close attention to maintenance history and how the truck was used.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to be patient and focus on the right listing rather than rushing into the first truck you see.

• Deal availability: 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 124 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.12% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $55,279 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $58,375 CAD sits slightly below last year's $62,852 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can be a good thing if you are buying now but a softer sign if you plan to sell soon. If you own one for the long term, the current trend means you should expect resale values to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and configuration. Trucks that are well maintained and sensibly equipped should hold up better than average, but the broader market is still pricing this model year below where it was a year ago.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.12% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a heavy-duty truck with strong owner approval and a market that has become a bit more buyer-friendly, the 2022 is a sensible choice. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, you may want to compare nearby model years and focus on the best-priced example rather than the newest one.
