Is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, smooth ride, and useful features such as the backup camera and electronic mirrors. It also fits well if you want a heavy-duty truck that still feels relatively well equipped for daily use, especially given its broad feature set and work-ready capability. With 30.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that feels dependable in everyday use, with praise for its strong performance and smooth ride. That kind of feedback matters for a heavy-duty pickup, where buyers often want something they can count on for work, towing, and long-term ownership. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is paying a premium for a truck that may have been used hard, so condition and maintenance history should matter as much as the badge.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 130 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.29% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $55,281 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $57,554 CAD sits slightly below last year's $62,759 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has eased, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also mean less upside if you plan to sell soon. If you own one for the long term, the softer entry price can be a benefit, but future resale will still depend heavily on mileage, condition, and how well the truck was maintained. Because heavy-duty trucks can be used hard, a clean history and strong presentation will matter a lot when it is time to list it again.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.29% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a heavy-duty truck with strong owner approval and a market that has softened, the 2022 is a sensible primary choice. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby year may be worth a look, but the 2022 stands out as the better pick when you want a balance of capability, equipment, and current market value.
