The current average of $40,436 CAD sits slightly below last year's $46,437 CAD.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.92% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.28/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $35,515 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $40,436 CAD average.
• It offers a proven package with loyal buyers and strong sales support.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $46,087 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $40,436 CAD average.
• It adds power upgrades and a more trail-ready off-road option.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of updated cabin tech, strong owner satisfaction, and a softer market price, the 2022 is the primary choice. If your priority is spending less, the 2021 is the better value path; if you want newer features and are willing to pay more, the 2023 is the upgrade route.
