Used 2022 Buick Encore GX for Sale near New Brunswick

How much does the 2022 Buick Encore GX cost?

Prices have softened 10.49% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 170 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Buick Encore GX a good car?

Yes — the 4.6/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the expert score is 7/10. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the comfortable seating, the available 360 camera, and the easy-to-use technology. That lines up well with the Encore GX’s role as a small, comfort-focused crossover for buyers who want a near-luxury feel in a compact package. At the same time, some owners say it feels overpriced, so value matters if you’re comparing it with mainstream rivals.

Only 22.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is somewhat selective rather than broadly discounted.

Is the 2022 Buick Encore GX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe it as comfortable and dependable, with several noting that it feels like a great compact SUV for everyday use. The feedback also points to a vehicle you can count on for advanced features and a generally satisfying ownership experience.

The expert road test also supports that impression, describing the Encore GX as a familiar, carryover package with straightforward controls and a generally capable powertrain. Buick’s standard maintenance coverage adds some ownership reassurance as well.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is not outright durability so much as whether the price still makes sense against the equipment you’re getting.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Buick Encore GX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim gets cloth seats, while the top Essence trim adds leather upholstery. The ST appearance package changes the look with sportier exterior details, but it does not change the core utility of the SUV.
• Powertrain: In Canada, the Encore GX uses a 1.3-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine with a nine-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. The engine is described as capable, though it can feel buzzy and a bit harsh.
• Safety package: The standard Driver Confidence package includes automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, following-distance indicator, forward-collision warning, and lane-keeping assistance with lane-departure warning. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are optional.
• Infotainment: An eight-inch touchscreen is standard, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth audio streaming, a Wi-Fi hotspot, front and rear USB ports, OnStar telematics, and SiriusXM satellite radio. Navigation is available on Select and Essence trims.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada lists combined fuel consumption at 8.6 L/100 km. In testing, it averaged 7.4 L/100 km in mostly highway driving.

Which 2022 Buick Encore GX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Buick Encore GX is offered in 3 trim levels: Preferred, Select, and Essence.

Here's the short version:

• Preferred: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Encore GX experience at the lowest price. It makes sense if you want the model’s comfort and standard tech without paying for extras.
• Select: This is the best-value trim if you want a stronger mix of equipment and price. It adds more convenience and available tech without jumping all the way to the top trim.
• Essence: This is the most upscale choice, with leather upholstery and the most premium-feeling cabin details. It suits you best if you want the richest interior and are willing to pay more for it.

The safety package is standard, but blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert remain optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Buick Encore GX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully and move quickly on well-priced examples.

• Deal availability: 22.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 170 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.49% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $22,138 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Buick Encore GX's resale value?

The current average of $22,141 CAD sits slightly below last year's $24,737 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Encore GX easier to buy now but less favourable if you’re planning to sell soon. If you own one, the softer pricing trend means you may need to price competitively to attract attention.

The good news is that demand is still supported by the model’s comfort, tech, and owner satisfaction. Well-equipped examples with the right trim and condition should remain easier to move than poorly optioned or overpriced listings.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Buick Encore GX safe?

The 2022 Buick Encore GX performed very well in National Highway Traffic Safety Administration crash tests, earning the maximum five stars for overall crash protection. The SUV gets five stars in both frontal and side crash protection and four stars for rollover resistance.

According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, it earned the highest-possible Good ratings in all of the organisation’s crash tests. The top Essence trim, with LED headlights, received an Acceptable rating, while Preferred and Select trims with halogen headlights received a Marginal rating. It also earned Superior ratings for both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian front crash prevention.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety suite includes automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, following-distance indicator, forward-collision warning, lane-keeping assistance with lane-departure warning, Teen Driver technology, and a tire-fill alert system. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are optional, so you’ll want to check whether a used example has those features if they matter to you.

Should I buy a 2022 Buick Encore GX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 22.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.49% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It’s a carryover year with only paint changes, so you’re not missing a major redesign.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $24,055 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $22,141 CAD average.
• It adds a more important role in Buick’s lineup as the remaining conventional gasoline crossover.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2022 is the smarter buy because pricing has eased and the package is unchanged. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model year, the 2023 is the cleaner alternative, but price-sensitive buyers should stay focused on the 2022.
