What is the 2022 BMW 4 Series' resale value?

The current average of $44,565 CAD sits slightly below last year's $53,082 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favourable point in the cycle. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale values to reflect the model’s premium positioning, styling appeal, and current market sentiment rather than hold unusually firm.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 BMW 4 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.04% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $38,805 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $44,565 CAD average.
• It offers a bold redesigned look with a more luxurious feel.

The bottom line: Choose the 2022 if you want the stronger current-market mix of satisfaction, pricing momentum, and available inventory. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2021 is the better value-oriented path, especially if you like the same basic formula and can live with an older model year.
