Is the 2016 BMW 4 Series a good car?

Yes — the 2016 BMW 4 Series earns a 4.6/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its luxury feel, comfort, and sporty performance, and many also like its aesthetic appeal and fuel efficiency. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a premium compact car with a stylish shape and a driver-focused character. With 37.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2016 BMW 4 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience for many drivers, with praise centred on the car’s comfort and overall quality. At the same time, some owners mention maintenance issues and mechanical problems, so you should pay close attention to service history and pre-purchase inspection results. For used buyers, that means the long-term risk is less about the car’s appeal and more about how well it has been maintained.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 BMW 4 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 37.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 91 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.75% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,941 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 BMW 4 Series' resale value?

The current average of $19,060 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,010 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed some of its near-term depreciation, which can help if you buy now and plan to sell later. If market conditions stay steady, a used example purchased near the current average may have a more predictable resale path than one bought when prices were higher. Strong owner satisfaction can also support demand when it is time to list the car again.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 BMW 4 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 37.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.75% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a smart choice if you want the 4 Series’ luxury feel, sporty character, and strong owner approval at a price that has eased from last year. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby model years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, history, and asking price.
