What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Acura RDX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base model is the most affordable entry point, while Technology, A-Spec, A-Spec Platinum Elite, and PMC Edition add more equipment and a more upscale feel. The base trim is the one most likely to leave you wanting more if you care about premium features.
• Powertrain: Every 2022 RDX uses the same turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with 272 horsepower and a 10-speed automatic. Acura’s standard torque-vectoring all-wheel drive is part of the package in Canada, and the drivetrain is described as smooth and enjoyable.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard and includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. With Technology and higher, you also get front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking.
• Infotainment: The system uses a 10.2-inch display with Acura’s touchpad controller, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Alexa Built-in is included, and starting with Technology, you get navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert evaluation recorded 11.4 L/100 km on the test loop, while the model’s Natural Resources Canada rating is cited at 10.3 L/100 km in testing context.

Which 2022 Acura RDX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Acura RDX is offered in 5 trim levels: base model, Technology, A-Spec, A-Spec Platinum Elite, and PMC Edition.

Here's the short version:

• base model: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core RDX experience with the standard turbo engine, all-wheel drive, and AcuraWatch. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model, but it is the least richly equipped.
• Technology: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds navigation and a 12-speaker ELS Studio audio system. If you want a more complete luxury-SUV experience without jumping too far up the price ladder, this is the one to target.
• A-Spec: Choose this if you want a sportier look and a more distinctive appearance. It builds on the RDX’s strong style and adds more visual attitude.
• A-Spec Platinum Elite: This is the most polished mainstream version, with adaptive damping, a smoother ride, a 10.5-inch head-up display, and the 16-speaker ELS Studio 3D system. It suits you if comfort and premium features matter most.
• PMC Edition: This limited-production version is the halo trim, with exclusive Long Beach Blue Pearl paint and an Orchid white interior. It is for shoppers who want rarity and exclusivity more than value.

With Technology and higher, the RDX adds front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking.

• Deal availability: 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 164 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.81% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $37,627 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Acura RDX's resale value?

The current average of $37,912 CAD sits slightly below last year's $41,577 CAD.

That softer pricing trend suggests the RDX is currently more accessible to used buyers than it was a year ago. For a future seller, that means you may not recover as much as owners did when prices were higher, especially if market conditions stay soft.

Even so, the model’s strong mix of comfort, performance, and premium feel should help it remain appealing to shoppers looking for a compact luxury SUV. Well-equipped trims and clean service history should be especially important if you want to protect resale value later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

AcuraWatch is standard and includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. With Technology and higher, you also get front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking.

One caveat is that the lane-keeping and lane-centring systems can issue false warnings and unnecessary steering corrections in some conditions.

Should I buy a 2022 Acura RDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.81% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds a quieter cabin, fresh styling, and refined ride and handling.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $32,681 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $37,912 CAD average.
• It offers a well-rounded luxury SUV with strong everyday usability.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $42,074 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $37,912 CAD average.
• It brings strong performance, comfort, and value with familiar tech quirks.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the best all-around choice if you want the updated cabin, quieter ride, and strong safety credentials. If price matters most, the 2021 is the smarter value play; if you want a newer-feeling alternative and can spend more, the 2023 is worth a look.
