Why it stands out
The 2021 Porsche 911 stands out because it combines the model’s unmistakable shape and rear-engine layout with the kind of performance breadth that has made the 911 an icon for decades. In this generation, the car is slightly larger than before, but it still keeps the familiar teardrop profile and distinctive lighting details that make it instantly recognisable. The entry-level Carrera uses a turbocharged 3.0-litre boxer six with 379 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automated dual-clutch transmission and rear-wheel drive, while the Carrera 4 adds all-wheel drive. Buyers who want more punch can look to the Carrera S and 4S, which raise output to 443 hp and 390 lb-ft and can also be had with a seven-speed manual.
What makes the 2021 model especially appealing is how much variety Porsche builds into the 911 formula. The generation’s second model year added more variants, including Targa versions with a retractable roof and the return of the Turbo and Turbo S, with the Turbo producing 572 hp and 553 lb-ft and the Turbo S reaching 640 hp and 590 lb-ft. That spread means the 911 can be a comfortable touring car, a serious all-wheel-drive grand tourer, or a far more extreme performance machine depending on the version. It also retains strong resale appeal, with the model noted for holding its value better than competing sports cars.
There are trade-offs, though. The 911 is pricey new or used, has limited passenger and cargo space, and can be expensive to maintain. Fuel consumption also varies widely by version, with the base Carrera estimated at 11.3 L/100 km combined, while higher-performance variants use more. Even so, the 2021 Porsche 911 remains distinctive because it delivers iconic design, a unique engine layout, and a level of performance that few sports cars can match.

This 911 Turbo S was painted in Aventurine which is one of the rarest Porsche colors, and it was paired with a sumptuous truffle leather interior. The only option missing was the front end lift. There is no comparison to the 911 Turbo S.

Great car. Drove it cross country. I was warned that it would be a rough ride and noisy. It has the PASM sport suspension and Sport exhaust. The ride was a smooth as could be and the exhaust was not too loud at all. Even my wife enjoyed the ride and agreed it was very comfortable and pleasant.

Outstanding. There are so many words that have already been written to describe the singular driving experience of the Porsche 911, but none that can actually convey that experience. Having bought my first Porsche 911, I finally get it. What a vehicle.
