Used 2021 Nissan Kicks for Sale nearNepean, ON

How much does the 2021 Nissan Kicks cost?

Prices have softened 12.93% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 272 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Nissan Kicks a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 4.5/5 user-rated small crossover with an 8.67/10 expert rating. The 2021 update keeps the Kicks’ easygoing, budget-friendly character while adding more features, so it still fits best if you want affordable, practical transportation with a friendly look rather than a performance-first crossover.

The model scores 9/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

Its refreshed design and upgraded cabin materials help it feel more polished than its price suggests, and the feature set is strong for the class. The Kicks remains a sensible choice if you value value and simplicity over speed.

Only 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so you may need to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Nissan Kicks reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2021 Kicks is presented as a straightforward, low-complexity subcompact crossover with a single powertrain and front-wheel drive only, which can help keep ownership simple. Its fuel-efficient setup and standard safety equipment support its reputation as a practical daily driver, while the refreshed model-year changes add features without making the vehicle more complicated.

The powertrain is described as delivering just enough power for the vehicle’s size, and the CVT can get noisy under heavy acceleration, but that does not take it out of consideration for buyers who prioritise economy and ease of use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that its modest performance may feel limiting if you regularly carry passengers, climb hills, or want stronger acceleration.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Nissan Kicks?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The top-tier Kicks SR and SR Premium add LED multi-reflector headlights and standard LED fog lights, while the SR Premium also brings a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel and shift knob, black heated outside mirrors with integrated turn signals, body-colour bumper inserts, a rear roof-mounted spoiler, dark chrome grille accents, and Prima-Tex-appointed seating with a three-tone design and stitching. The base trim is more basic, so you’ll want to compare equipment carefully if you care about lighting, comfort, and appearance upgrades.
• Powertrain: Every 2021 Kicks uses a 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine with 122 horsepower and 114 pound-feet of torque, paired with Nissan’s Xtronic CVT and front-wheel drive. There is no all-wheel drive option, and the Kicks is tuned for efficiency and everyday use rather than quick acceleration.
• Safety package: Every Kicks comes with Nissan Safety Shield 360, which includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, high beam assist, and rear automatic braking. Kicks SV and SR add adaptive cruise control, a driver alertness monitor, and rear door alert, so base-trim shoppers should check whether those extras matter to them.
• Infotainment: The base Kicks S gets a 7-inch infotainment touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, three USB ports, keyless entry, push-button start, and Easy Fill Tire Alert. The SV adds Nissan Intelligent Key, automatic climate control, satellite radio, remote engine start, and a USB-C port, while the SR Premium adds the Bose Personal Plus sound system and a surround-view monitor.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates the Kicks at 7.7 L/100 km in the city, 6.6 on the highway, and 7.2 combined.

Which 2021 Nissan Kicks trim should I buy?

The 2021 Nissan Kicks is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SV, SR, SR Premium.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry point and are happy with the essentials. You still get the 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, three USB ports, push-button start, and the full Safety Shield 360 suite, so it covers the basics well.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds useful everyday upgrades without pushing the price into the top end. You get Nissan Intelligent Key, automatic climate control, satellite radio, remote engine start, a USB-C port, rear disc brakes, and extra safety tech such as adaptive cruise control, a driver alertness monitor, and rear door alert.
• SR: Choose this if you want a more upscale look and some added equipment, including 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, rear disc brakes, and the sportier exterior treatment. It builds on the SV’s equipment while adding more visual polish.
• SR Premium: This is the most feature-rich version, with LED headlights, LED fog lights, black heated outside mirrors with integrated turn signals, a rear roof spoiler, dark chrome grille accents, Prima-Tex seating, the Bose Personal Plus audio system, and a surround-view monitor. It suits you best if you want the most comfort and convenience features in the range.

Every Kicks comes standard with Nissan Safety Shield 360, and the SV and SR add more driver-assistance features, so safety equipment is strong across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Nissan Kicks?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings and wait for the right one.

• Deal availability: 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 272 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.93% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $17,516 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Nissan Kicks's resale value?

The current average of $17,516 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,117 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, which can make it harder for a future seller to command a premium unless the vehicle is especially well equipped or exceptionally clean. If you buy now, you may benefit from the softer pricing, but you should also expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim. Higher-spec examples with desirable equipment may hold attention better than a basic trim.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Nissan Kicks safe?

The 2021 Kicks earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2021 Kicks comes standard with Nissan Safety Shield 360, which includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, high beam assist, and rear automatic braking. Cruise control is also standard, and Nissan equips every Kicks with 10 airbags. Kicks SV and SR add adaptive cruise control, a driver alertness monitor, and rear door alert as standard.

The main caveat is that the 2021 model has not been crash-tested by IIHS, so you’re relying on the refreshed safety equipment and the NHTSA result rather than a full new IIHS score for this model year.

Should I buy a 2021 Nissan Kicks or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.93% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings a refreshed look and more features while keeping the Kicks’ easygoing, budget-friendly character.

The bottom line: The 2021 Kicks is the right pick if you want the refreshed version of this value-focused crossover and you care more about features, efficiency, and simplicity than outright performance. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year can still make sense, but the 2021’s added equipment and softer pricing make it the more compelling all-around choice for many used buyers.
