How much does the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLE cost?

There are 231 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLE a good car?

Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the expert rating is 8/10. The model scores 10/10 across Performance, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the GLE for its technology, comfort, and stylish design, and many also like the customisable features and high-quality sound system. It fits especially well if you want a premium family SUV that leans hard into comfort and technology. With 28.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is also some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLE reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with praise for comfort, technology, and the sense that it can be counted on as a luxury SUV. The expert assessment also highlights the base GLE 350’s ordinary coil-sprung setup as the most sensible choice for reliability because there is nothing expensive to fail. Mercedes also notes that the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the GLE’s more complex high-end systems can be costly if they need attention.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The interior is a major selling point, but you should compare how much equipment you get before moving up the range. Base versions are less lavish than higher trims, and the most expensive models are the ones that feel truly loaded.
• Powertrain: The GLE 350 uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder, while the GLE 450 uses a turbo 3.0-litre inline-six. Higher-output AMG versions add more power and more complex hardware, and the hybrid-style EQ Boost system is standard on every GLE except the base GLE 350.
• Safety package: The standard suite includes blind-spot monitoring, a driver attention monitor, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, evasive steering assist, front cross-traffic braking, and semi-automated control functions. Some features, including 360-degree cameras and Pre-Safe Impulse Side, are not standard on every trim.
• Infotainment: You get a 12-inch touchscreen with Interior Assistant, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a natural voice assistant, and a system that can be controlled by touchpad or thumbpad. The interface is designed to be easier to use than older Mercedes systems.
• Fuel efficiency: The GLE 450 4MATIC uses 11.4 L/100 km in city driving, 9.2 on the highway, and 10.4 combined. The GLE 350 4MATIC uses 12.4/9.0/10.8, while the AMG GLE 53 Coupe is rated at 11.7 L/100 km combined.

Which 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLE trim should I buy?

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLE is offered in 4 trim levels: GLE 350 4MATIC SUV, GLE 450 4MATIC, Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4MATIC+, Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC+.

Here's the short version:

• GLE 350 4MATIC SUV: This is the most sensible starting point if you want the GLE’s comfort, technology, and standard all-wheel drive without paying for the more complex powertrains above it. It is the least expensive way into the range, but it is also the trim most likely to feel underpowered compared with the rest of the lineup.
• GLE 450 4MATIC: This is the best-value pick for most shoppers because it adds the stronger turbo 3.0-litre inline-six and the EQ Boost hybrid system while staying below AMG pricing. If you want the sweet spot between everyday refinement and stronger performance, this is the one to target.
• Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4MATIC+: Choose this if you want a much more performance-focused GLE with the electric supercharger, AMG-tuned driving modes, variable torque split, and bigger brakes. It suits you best if driving character matters more than value.
• Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC+: This is the top performance choice, with the 4.0-litre biturbo V8 and the most aggressive hardware in the range. It makes sense only if you want the most powerful version and are comfortable with the highest running costs.

Safety equipment varies by trim, and some driver-assistance features are standard or optional depending on the model you choose.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 28.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 231 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.08% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $52,704 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLE's resale value?

The current average of $54,611 CAD sits slightly below last year's $61,416 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more confidently today, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if values continue to ease. The current spread between the yearly low and high suggests there is still room for condition, trim, and equipment to influence what a used GLE brings. If you buy well now, you may be better positioned to limit depreciation later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLE safe?

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLE earns the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four stars for rollover resistance.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety and driver-assistance package includes blind-spot monitoring, a driver attention monitor, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, evasive steering assist, front cross-traffic braking, and semi-automated control functions that can stop the vehicle if the driver does not respond. Pre-Safe Sound is standard, and Pre-Safe Impulse Side is optional on higher trims.

Should I buy a 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLE or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 28.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 brings a redesigned GLE Coupe and exceptionally rich comfort and technology.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $58,988 CAD, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $54,611 CAD average.
• It brings a more distinctive coupe-style shape that works well as a sporty SUV alternative.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2021 is the smarter buy because prices have eased and owner satisfaction is strong. If you are willing to pay more for a newer-year alternative with a more distinctive coupe-style design, the 2022 is worth a look.
