What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Mazda CX-30?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GT trim adds black leather or white leather, a frameless rearview mirror, a navigation system, SiriusXM satellite radio, a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system, an Active Driving Display, adaptive front lighting, front and rear parking sensors, and rear automatic emergency braking. The lower grades are more basic, so you should check whether the features you want are standard or reserved for GT.
• Powertrain: The turbocharged Skyactiv 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and standard i-Activ all-wheel drive. Output varies with fuel octane, and the setup is tuned for strong, effortless acceleration rather than hardcore performance.
• Safety package: Every CX-30 Turbo includes a full collection of safety features and advanced driver-assistance systems. The GT trim adds adaptive front lighting, front and rear parking sensors, and rear automatic emergency braking. There is no high-speed lane-centring assistance function.
• Infotainment: The dashboard display is 8.8 inches and is not a touchscreen. You get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the GT trim adds navigation and a premium Bose audio system. The system relies on physical controls and voice commands rather than touch input.

• Deal availability: 29.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 174 listings available.

If you find a listing below $23,947 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Mazda CX-30's resale value?

The current average of $24,800 CAD sits slightly below last year's $25,833 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a little more favourable for buyers, which can make resale planning more important if you expect to sell in the near future. If you buy at the right price now, you may have less room for depreciation pressure later, especially if the market stays soft.

For a future seller, the key is to keep the vehicle in strong condition and avoid overpaying upfront. A model with a premium feel and broad appeal can still attract interest, but resale value will depend heavily on how well it is presented when you list it.

Should I buy a 2021 Mazda CX-30 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 29.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.00% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.77/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It pairs effortless acceleration with premium design and impressive technologies.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $24,826 CAD, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $24,800 CAD average.
• It adds a more spacious cabin and keeps the upscale, fun-to-drive character.

The bottom line: The 2021 is the better pick if you want the strongest value and the same premium-feeling formula at a slightly lower average price. If you are willing to spend a bit more for a newer model year with a roomier cabin, the 2022 is the sensible alternative.
