• Trim level: The N Line adds a more aggressive look with gloss black exterior accents, 19-inch alloy wheels, sport front seats with Nappa leather bolsters and Dinamica suede inserts, red stitching, aluminium pedal covers, and a panoramic sunroof. It is the right pick if you want the sportiest presentation and the most distinctive cabin.

It is tuned for on-pavement performance and feels especially strong when driven hard.

The current average of $18,865 CAD sits slightly below last year's $22,059 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you own one now, the softer trend can work against short-term resale, especially if similar listings remain plentiful.

At the same time, the Sonata’s strong owner satisfaction and broad appeal should help support demand over time. Well-equipped examples with the right condition and mileage are likely to remain easier to move than less desirable alternatives.

Should I buy a 2021 Hyundai Sonata or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.48% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It pairs a bargain price with a sporty N Line character and strong value.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $21,307 CAD, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $18,865 CAD average.
• It leans harder into exceptional quality and overall value.

The bottom line: If you want the better price today, the 2021 is the smarter buy. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model-year alternative, the 2022 is worth a look, but price-sensitive buyers should start with the 2021.
