How much does the 2021 Honda Ridgeline cost?

Prices have softened 9.34% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 71 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2021 Honda Ridgeline a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Honda Ridgeline earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, ride quality, spacious interior, smooth driving experience, and innovative truck bed and cargo space. That lines up well with the Ridgeline’s use case as a truck for you if you want pickup utility without giving up everyday comfort and easy livability.

With 25.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room for you to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Honda Ridgeline reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise centred on comfort, ride quality, and features that make the truck easy to live with over the long term. Honda’s performance tuning and standard all-wheel-drive setup support that impression by giving you a smooth, refined truck that feels composed in daily use.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic durability and more about whether the truck’s equipment and safety content match what you want.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Honda Ridgeline?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Ridgeline comes in Sport, EX-L, Touring, and Black Edition trim levels. Even the Sport is not stripped down, but it is the only trim with cloth seats, so you should check whether you want the more upscale equipment and materials found higher up the range.
• Powertrain: Every Ridgeline uses a 280-horsepower V6 with a nine-speed automatic transmission and standard torque-vectoring all-wheel drive. It is smooth and refined, but it is not a rock-crawling off-roader, and its 194 mm of ground clearance and shallow angles limit serious trail use.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and lane-centring assistance. Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning is not offered in Canada.
• Infotainment: You get an 8-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, text-messaging capability, basic HondaLink services, USB charging ports, and wireless smartphone charging. Higher trims add SiriusXM satellite radio, HD Radio, navigation, voice recognition, traffic information, and a premium sound system.
• Fuel efficiency: No fuel-consumption figure is stated in the available data.

Which 2021 Honda Ridgeline trim should I buy?

The 2021 Honda Ridgeline is offered in 4 trim levels: Sport, EX-L, Touring, and Black Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the value play if you want the Ridgeline’s core strengths without paying for extras you may not need. You still get the V6, standard all-wheel drive, the 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, wireless charging, and Honda Sensing.
• EX-L: This is the trim to target if you want a more upscale daily driver and are willing to pay for added comfort and convenience. It builds on the Sport’s equipment while moving you closer to the Ridgeline’s more premium side.
• Touring: Choose this if you want the better-equipped middle ground with more technology and a richer feature set. It suits you if you value navigation, upgraded audio, and a more complete cabin experience.
• Black Edition: This is the top choice if you want the most distinctive appearance and the fullest equipment list. It is the one to consider if you want the most premium version of the Ridgeline.

Honda Sensing is standard across the range, but blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning is not offered in Canada.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Honda Ridgeline?

The market looks moderate for selective buyers, so you can shop with some patience and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 25.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 71 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.34% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $36,577 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Honda Ridgeline's resale value?

The current average of $37,179 CAD sits slightly below last year's $41,007 CAD.

That softer pricing can work in your favour if you are buying now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if prices continue to ease. The Ridgeline’s strong utility, comfort, and owner satisfaction should help support demand, especially among shoppers who want a refined pickup for everyday use.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Honda Ridgeline safe?

The Honda Ridgeline earns a six-star rating from NHTSA and a Marginal result in the IIHS small overlap front: passenger side crash test.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and lane-centring assistance. The Ridgeline also includes a multi-angle reversing camera and automatic high-beam headlights.

One important caveat is that the adaptive cruise control can react too aggressively in some traffic situations, and blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning is not offered in Canada.

Should I buy a 2021 Honda Ridgeline or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 25.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.34% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 facelift gives the Ridgeline a more truck-like appearance.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $40,045 CAD, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $37,179 CAD average.
• It carries over essentially unchanged after the 2021 facelift.

The bottom line: If you want the better-value buy, the 2021 is the smarter starting point because it delivers the refreshed look and strong owner satisfaction at a lower average price. If you are price-sensitive, the 2021 also gives you the better chance of finding a deal without giving up the Ridgeline’s core strengths.
