Why it stands out
The 2021 Honda Accord stands out as a mid-size sedan that aims for a more elevated feel without losing the broad appeal that has made it popular. Honda refined the Accord’s features list for this model year and priced it to compete against other heavyweights in the industry. Safety was also a priority in the 2021 Accord, and that focus helped this fresh version earn high praise.
For buyers, the appeal is in the blend of polish, value, and confidence. The available owner feedback points to strong performance, a luxurious-feeling cabin, good gas mileage, modern styling, and up-to-date technology. At the same time, some drivers felt the pricing was high for the features offered, and others noted that it is not the fastest model available.

I think the car has all features that I needed . Because of the low miles and condition I think it was great value. Only thing it was missing was a sunroof . the most similar options are the camry xse and bmw 3 Series.

My second Accord, this was to replace a 2018 that was totaled in an accident. I've driven a Camry, K5, Buick Regal, Altima, and several other sedans and this is the best built in a world with fewer and fewer available

| Metric | Value |

| Year-Round High | $28,525 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $28,567 CAD |

Prices have softened 11.86% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 129 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for you to compare.
Is the 2021 Honda Accord a good car?
Yes — the 2021 Honda Accord earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 9.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.
Drivers consistently praise its strong performance, luxurious-feeling features, and good gas mileage. The feedback also highlights its modern styling and up-to-date technology, which fits the Accord’s role as a polished mid-size sedan with broad appeal.
With its focus on value, confidence, and a more elevated feel, it suits you well if you want a practical family sedan that still feels refined. 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2021 Honda Accord reliable?
Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to a car that many drivers find reliable, dependable, and good for long-term ownership. The expert assessment also supports that impression by describing measured, easy-to-live-with driving behaviour and smooth braking performance.
Honda’s maintenance-friendly ownership story is reinforced by the model’s strong value positioning and broad appeal. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is paying too much for a higher-trim example when a lower trim may deliver most of the same day-to-day satisfaction.
What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Honda Accord?
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The SE, Sport, EX-L, and Touring all bring a more sophisticated look, while the EX-L adds leather-trimmed seats and the Touring adds ventilated front seats and more tech. The SE is the Canada-exclusive entry point, but it skips several convenience items found on the Sport, including the wireless phone charger, moonroof, 10-speaker premium audio system, heated steering wheel, and paddle shifters.
- Powertrain: You can choose between a 192-horsepower 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with a CVT or a 252-hp 2.0-litre turbo-four with a 10-speed automatic. The smaller engine is the efficiency play, while the larger one is the more engaging option.
- Safety package: Every Accord includes Honda Sensing, with lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, road departure mitigation, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning and collision mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams.
- Infotainment: Every trim gets an 8-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, hands-free text messaging, and two USB ports. Higher trims add satellite radio, HD radio, a wireless phone charger, a 10-speaker premium audio system, an extra USB port, and a Wi-Fi hot spot.
- Fuel efficiency: The 1.5-litre engine is rated at 7.2 L/100 km combined in the SE and EX-L, 7.5 L/100 km combined in the Sport and Touring, and the 2.0-litre engine is rated at 9.1 L/100 km combined.
Which 2021 Honda Accord trim should I buy?
The 2021 Honda Accord is offered in 6 trim levels: SE, Sport, EX-L, Touring, Sport 2.0, and Touring 2.0.
Here's the short version:
- SE: This is the value-focused starting point, and it already gives you heated front seats, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and folding door mirrors. It’s the trim to target if you want the lowest entry price and can live without the extra comfort and convenience features found higher up.
- Sport: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the moonroof, wireless phone charger, 10-speaker premium audio system, heated steering wheel, and paddle shifters. It gives you a more complete feel without jumping all the way to the upper trims.
- EX-L: Choose this if you want a more upscale cabin, since it adds leather upholstery, heated outboard rear seats, and second-row ventilation. It’s the comfort pick for buyers who spend a lot of time with passengers.
- Touring: This is the most feature-rich 1.5-litre trim, with 19-inch wheels, ventilated front seats, navigation, rain-sensing wipers, and a head-up display. It suits you if you want the most equipment without moving to the 2.0-litre models.
- Sport 2.0: This is the driver’s choice, pairing the stronger 2.0-litre turbo engine with the Sport trim’s equipment. It’s the one to buy if you care most about acceleration and overall punch.
- Touring 2.0: This is the top-spec choice for buyers who want the strongest engine plus the Touring trim’s premium equipment. It’s the most complete Accord here, but also the priciest.
The safety package is standard across the lineup, so your trim decision mostly comes down to how much comfort, tech, and power you want.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Honda Accord?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you should compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.
- Deal availability: 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 129 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.86% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $24,771 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2021 Honda Accord's resale value?
The current average of $25,178 CAD sits slightly below last year's $28,567 CAD.
That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can be good news if you’re buying now but less favourable if you’re planning to sell soon. A softer market usually means you may need to price your Accord more competitively to attract attention.
Even so, the Accord’s strong reputation for value, safety, and owner satisfaction should help support demand over time. Well-equipped examples with desirable trims and clean histories are likely to hold buyer interest better than bare-bones versions.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2021 Honda Accord safe?
The 2021 Honda Accord earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS and a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in all crash testing scenarios.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
Every Accord comes standard with vehicle stability assist with traction control, brake assist, a rearview camera, LED daytime running lights, traffic sign recognition, automatic high beams, and Honda Sensing. That suite includes lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, road departure mitigation, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning and collision mitigation braking, and adaptive cruise control.
The standard front crash prevention system also earned IIHS’s top Superior rating for vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian crash avoidance. For used buyers, that makes the Accord a strong choice if safety is a top priority.
Should I buy a 2021 Honda Accord or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2021 if:
- 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.86% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- Honda’s refreshed feature set and strong safety performance make this year especially appealing.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $22,568 CAD, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $25,178 CAD average.
- It offers polished styling, strong driving dynamics, and a huge back seat.
