How much does the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E cost?

There are 100 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E earns a 4.78/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

Owners consistently praise its stylish design, impressive performance, advanced technology, comfortable interior, and user-friendly features. That lines up well with its role as a small electric crossover that blends sportiness with everyday practicality, especially if you want something that feels more distinctive than a typical EV. The market also shows 36.0% of listings as good or great deals, which adds to the appeal if you are shopping carefully.

Is the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E reliable?

Owners rate it 4.78/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, with praise centred on the car’s comfortable cabin and easy-to-use features. The expert drive notes that the basic adaptive cruise control system kept pace with traffic reliably, and its automated lane centring was one of the smoothest experienced in a mainstream-brand vehicle. Ford also includes a cable for Level 2 AC charging from a 240-volt home outlet, which can simplify regular charging at home.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the core EV hardware and more about making sure software behaviour, charging convenience, and any prior updates have been handled properly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin is defined by a minimalist layout, a massive infotainment touchscreen, and a thin digital instrument display. Higher trims add more premium touches, while the base model misses some comfort and convenience equipment that appears on pricier versions.
• Powertrain: You can shop rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, and the dual-motor AWD setup delivers stronger output and quicker acceleration than the base rear-drive version. The lower-level AWD powertrain is still notably quick, while the GT Performance Edition is the most potent configuration.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assist equipment includes automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, automatic emergency braking, post-collision braking, reverse sensing, reverse automatic braking, adaptive cruise control with automated lane centring, traffic-sign recognition, and evasive steering assist. A 360-degree camera system is standard on higher trim levels, and Active Drive Assist is standard on California Route 1, Premium, and First Edition, but only part of a package on Select.
• Infotainment: The Mach-E uses Sync 4 with a 15.5-inch touchscreen, a 10.2-inch instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and over-the-air software update capability. Premium, GT, and First Edition models also get a nine-speaker B&O sound system.
• Range & charging: The Standard Range battery pack is rated at 370 km with rear-wheel drive and 340 km with all-wheel drive. The Extended Range pack is rated at 491 km with rear-wheel drive and 435 km with all-wheel drive. DC fast charging is standard at up to 150 kW, and Ford says a 10% to 80% charge can take about 45 minutes.
• Battery health: As with any used EV, you should check battery state-of-health, review charging habits, and confirm whether the car spent most of its life on home charging or frequent DC fast charging. You should also verify how much of the battery warranty remains and whether any software updates or charging-related fixes have been completed.

Which 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E trim should I buy?

The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E is offered in 4 trim levels: Select, Premium, California Route 1, and GT Performance Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Select: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the Mach-E’s core EV experience, strong standard safety equipment, and the distinctive styling that defines the model. It makes the most sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live without some of the nicer convenience and tech upgrades.
• Premium: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it builds on the Select with a more upscale feel and the same general character as the First Edition test vehicle. It is the trim to target if you want the Mach-E’s style, performance, and everyday usability without jumping to the highest-priced versions.
• California Route 1: This trim is aimed at buyers who want a longer-range, more road-trip-friendly setup and includes Active Drive Assist as standard. It suits you best if range and advanced driver-assistance availability matter more than outright performance.
• GT Performance Edition: This is the performance-focused choice, with the strongest output and the quickest acceleration in the lineup. Buy this one if you want the most aggressive Mach-E experience and are willing to pay for it.

Active Drive Assist is standard on California Route 1, Premium, and First Edition, but it is only part of a package on Select.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings and wait for the right one.

• Deal availability: 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 100 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.03% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $27,000 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E's resale value?

The current average of $28,983 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,841 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more favourable for buyers, which can put pressure on future resale values if supply stays healthy. For a seller, that means you may need to price competitively to stand out, especially if your vehicle is not one of the more desirable trims or battery configurations. On the other hand, the Mach-E’s strong owner satisfaction and broad appeal should help support demand over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.78/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E safe?

The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E earns a Top Safety Pick rating from the IIHS.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance features include automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, automatic emergency braking, post-collision braking, a reverse sensing system, reverse automatic braking, adaptive cruise control with automated lane centring, traffic-sign recognition, and evasive steering assist. A 360-degree camera system is also standard on higher trim levels.

One caveat is that the IIHS result was affected by certain headlights and LATCH ease of use, so you should pay attention to equipment differences by trim when you shop.

Should I buy a 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.03% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.78/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Ford’s first mass-market Mustang-badged EV brings strong style, solid performance, and a dedicated EV platform to the table.

The bottom line: If you want the Mach-E’s original formula and you find a well-priced example, the 2021 model is a compelling buy. It gives you the core design, performance, and technology that made the nameplate stand out, while current pricing makes it easier to shop selectively. If you are especially price-sensitive, keep watching listings for a lower-mileage example near the bottom of the range and prioritise the trim and battery setup that best match your driving needs.
