This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

• Deal availability: 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 148 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.17% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $38,603 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Ford Mustang's resale value?

The current average of $38,603 CAD sits slightly below last year's $39,457 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future sellers may face a market that is a bit less aggressive than it was a year ago. If you plan to resell later, the current trend suggests you should focus on condition, maintenance history, and trim desirability to protect value. Well-kept examples should still attract attention, especially if they present cleanly and are priced in line with the market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 Ford Mustang or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.17% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $39,269 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $38,603 CAD average.
• It offers strong value and a distinctive place in Ford’s Canadian car lineup.

The bottom line:
The 2021 is the better starting point if you want the stronger current pricing and a healthy pool of listings. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2020 is still worth a look, but the 2021 gives you the cleaner value case right now.
