• Trim level: The Charger lineup includes SXT, SXT AWD, GT, GT AWD, R/T, Scat Pack, Scat Pack Widebody, and SRT Hellcat Redeye. The base SXT comes with 17-inch wheels, while higher trims add more wheel choices, body-colour details, and wider-body styling on select versions.

Which 2021 Dodge Charger trim should I buy?

The 2021 Dodge Charger is offered in 8 trim levels: Charger SXT, Charger SXT AWD, Charger GT, Charger GT AWD, Charger R/T, Charger Scat Pack, Charger Scat Pack Widebody, and Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye.

Here's the short version:

• Charger SXT: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Charger’s core four-door muscle-car character with the standard V6 and the most fuel-efficient setup in the lineup.
• Charger SXT AWD: Choose this if you want the same basic formula as the SXT but with all-wheel drive for added traction.
• Charger GT: This is a stronger-value pick if you want a more upscale-feeling V6 Charger with more presence than the SXT.
• Charger GT AWD: This suits you if you want the GT’s added polish and all-wheel drive together.
• Charger R/T: This is the first V8 trim and the best choice if you want a clear jump in performance without going all the way to the high-output models.
• Charger Scat Pack: This is the best-value performance trim if you want serious power and the strongest enthusiast appeal before the price climbs sharply.
• Charger Scat Pack Widebody: Pick this if you want the Scat Pack’s performance with the wider-body look and stance.
• Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye: This is the extreme choice, with the most powerful engine and the most track-focused personality in the lineup.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, while several driver-assistance features remain optional in packages.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Dodge Charger?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 75 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.45% compared with last year.
• If you find a listing below $27,611 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Dodge Charger's resale value?

The current average of $29,200 CAD sits slightly below last year's $31,549 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. For a seller, the current trend suggests you may need to price competitively to move the car quickly. Higher-trim Chargers may still hold attention from shoppers who want the muscle-car experience in a practical sedan.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Dodge Charger safe?

The 2021 Dodge Charger earns a four-star overall safety rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Every new Charger comes standard with brake assist, electronic stability control, hill start assist, rear park assist, rain brake support, and a tire pressure monitoring system. Adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, and automatic headlights are available in packages.

The main caveat is that the Charger hasn’t been crash-tested by IIHS for this model year, and the structurally similar 2020 model received poor marks for headlights.

Should I buy a 2021 Dodge Charger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.45% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds a new track-ready variant that pushes the Hellcat V8 further.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $25,458 CAD, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $29,200 CAD average.
• It offers a wide range of powertrains and available all-wheel drive.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $37,453 CAD, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $29,200 CAD average.
• It leans into easier-to-use technology and sharper Widebody handling.

The bottom line: The 2021 is the best all-around pick if you want the newest version of this formula at a softer price than the next model year. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2020 is the value play, especially if you want the Charger’s practicality without paying extra for the newer year.
