CarGurus Analysis: 2021 Audi Q7

Summary
With 59 currently listed for sale and an average price of $32,775 CAD, 35.6% of 2021 Audi Q7 listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2021 Audi Q7 5 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2021 Audi Q7 stands out as a three-row luxury SUV that blends clean, angular styling with a practical cabin and strong road manners. It offers comfortable and spacious front and second-row seating, while the third row is best left for children. Cargo space is generous for the class, with 419 litres behind the third row, 1,061 litres with it folded, and a maximum of 2,027 litres. The interior can feel somewhat cold and technical, but the overall design is tidy and well resolved, and the vehicle’s uncluttered look has aged well.
Technology is a major part of the Q7’s appeal. For 2021, it includes Audi Virtual Cockpit, an upper touchscreen for infotainment functions, a head-up display, and a lower touchscreen for climate controls and other functions. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto were available in the Q7 for the first time in this generation, and safety equipment expanded over time, including lane guidance as standard or optional equipment. It also performed well in crash tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety since 2017, although headlight performance was consistently poor through 2023.
For buyers, the 2021 Q7’s strongest case is its balance of comfort, performance, and towing ability. The turbocharged V6 is the better engine choice, and it provides 3,500 kilograms of towing capacity. The base turbocharged four-cylinder is more affordable, but it does not provide enough power and its fuel economy fails to impress. Owners also praise the smooth ride, powerful handling, and luxurious features, though the Q7’s high price tag and premium-fuel requirement remain part of the ownership equation.

After test driving all the major competition SUVs (Mercedes GLE, GLS, Porsche Cayenne, BMW X5, X7,Lexus RX350, Acura MDX) I decided to buy the Q7 because of an unparalleled driving experience, steering responsiveness, suspensions, quiet ride, confort and technology. The drive home from the dealership last night was sublime!

I have had 3 Q7s,and they all have been great machines, they are expensive but just amazing driving machines. The first one I drove back and forth from Arizona to the east coast, driving it ws a thing of joy to drive it. The other two did not go to east coast but lovd them as well. Honestly dont know any comparable vehicles to the Q7. The car is at its best with adaptive air suspension and warm weather coooling option.

How much does the 2021 Audi Q7 cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $33,383 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $33,304 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $41,348 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $41,348 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −19.26% |
Prices have softened 19.26% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 101 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of choice in the market.
Is the 2021 Audi Q7 a good car?
Yes — the 2021 Audi Q7 earns a 5/5 user rating, which is a strong sign that owners are very satisfied with it. Owners consistently praise its comfort, performance, and driving experience, and they especially like the smooth ride, powerful handling, and luxurious features. It also fits well if you want a three-row luxury SUV with a practical cabin and strong road manners. With 36.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.
Is the 2021 Audi Q7 reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with praise centred on its smooth ride, strong performance, and overall comfort. That kind of positive ownership experience suggests you can count on it for long-term use if it has been maintained properly. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about the model’s appeal and more about making sure the specific vehicle has been cared for consistently.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Audi Q7?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.
- Deal availability: 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 101 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 19.26% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $33,304 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2021 Audi Q7's resale value?
The current average of $33,383 CAD sits slightly below last year's $41,348 CAD.
That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favourable entry point today. For a future seller, it also means resale expectations should be realistic unless the vehicle is especially well equipped and well maintained. The current pricing trend shows that demand is still present, but buyers have become more selective.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2021 Audi Q7 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2021 if:
- 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 19.26% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $34,870 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $33,383 CAD average.
- It brings a refreshed design and a more modern-feeling update.
The bottom line: The 2021 is the better primary pick if you want the stronger value proposition and a well-liked ownership experience. If you're especially price-sensitive, the 2020 is still worth a look, but only if its condition and equipment justify paying more than the 2021 average.
