Is the 2020 Nissan Sentra a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Nissan Sentra earns a 4.75/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its beautiful design, smooth ride, and excellent fuel economy, and many also like the impressive gadgets and safety features for the price. For you, that makes it a sensible pick if you want an easygoing compact sedan that feels well equipped without needing to move up the trim ladder. With 27.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Nissan Sentra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also leans toward dependable day-to-day use, with many drivers describing the car positively overall and highlighting a trouble-free ownership experience. A few minor issues were mentioned, but they appear limited rather than widespread. For used buyers, that suggests the main long-term ownership risk is less about broad reliability concerns and more about checking the specific condition and maintenance history of the individual car you are considering.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Nissan Sentra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to compare listings carefully before committing.

• Deal availability: 27.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 192 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.03% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $14,677 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Nissan Sentra's resale value?

The current average of $14,682 CAD sits slightly below last year's $17,910 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the car more attractive to you as a buyer today but may limit upside for a future seller. If you buy at a lower entry price, you may have less depreciation pressure than someone who paid closer to the earlier average. Even so, the softer market means resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Nissan Sentra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 27.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.03% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $17,475 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $14,682 CAD average.
• It adds a more attractive exterior and interior.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2020 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid owner satisfaction and decent deal availability. If you are willing to spend more for a fresher-feeling cabin and styling, the 2021 is the better secondary path.
