Is the 2020 Nissan Sentra a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Nissan Sentra earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its beautiful design, smooth ride, and excellent fuel economy, and many also like the safety features and gadgets you get for the price. That makes it a sensible fit if you want an easygoing compact sedan for daily driving rather than a performance-first car. With 28.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Nissan Sentra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also leans toward dependable day-to-day use, with many drivers describing the car as trouble-free and appreciating how well it fits long-term ownership needs. A few minor issues were mentioned, but they appear limited compared with the overall positive response. For used buyers, that suggests the bigger ownership risk is finding a neglected example rather than worrying about a broad reliability pattern.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Nissan Sentra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 28.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 194 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.64% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $14,736 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Nissan Sentra's resale value?

The current average of $14,802 CAD sits slightly below last year's $17,757 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, the current trend suggests you should focus on buying well now so you have more room to protect your value. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it is time to list.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Nissan Sentra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 28.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.64% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $17,253 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $14,802 CAD average.
• It adds a more polished design and a smarter overall feel.

The bottom line: Choose the 2020 if you want the better value and a well-liked compact sedan with strong owner satisfaction. If you can stretch your budget and want a more refined-feeling alternative, the 2021 is the better upgrade path.
