Used 2020 Honda CR-V for Sale nearGloucester, ON

How much does the 2020 Honda CR-V cost?

Prices have softened 11.42% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 723 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Honda CR-V a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Honda CR-V earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating, which points to broad appeal for Canadian shoppers. The model scores 8/10 across Performance, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its spaciousness, excellent features, and strong performance, and they also value the advanced technology and safety features for the price. The main trade-offs are that some owners want more equipment such as parking sensors and built-in navigation, and a few feel it is overpriced.

That lines up with the CR-V’s use case as a practical, comfortable compact SUV that is easy to live with and broadly useful. With 26.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2020 Honda CR-V reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with shoppers repeatedly highlighting its strong everyday usefulness and confidence-inspiring nature. The expert assessment also supports that impression by describing the CR-V as a familiar, well-sorted crossover that has had its wrinkles smoothed out over time.

Honda’s 2020 upgrades also help strengthen the case for long-term ownership by improving efficiency and value. For used buyers, the main risk is less about outright durability and more about whether you are comfortable with the model’s dated technology and lower-grade interior materials.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Honda CR-V?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX is the entry point and is front-wheel drive, while higher trims add features such as larger wheels, leather upholstery, moonroof equipment, roof rails, and upgraded lighting. The base trim is the most stripped-back version, so you should check whether it has the equipment you want before you buy.
• Powertrain: Every grade uses a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with 190 horsepower and 179 pound-feet of torque, paired with a CVT. It is tuned for efficiency and easy drivability rather than excitement.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard and includes forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, lane departure warning and road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control with lane-keeping assist, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring starts on Sport trims, while rear cross-traffic monitoring is limited to Touring and Black Edition.
• Infotainment: The standard setup is a 7-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Touring and Black Edition add navigation and a wireless phone charger, but the system itself is dated and can be cumbersome to use.
• Fuel efficiency: FWD models are rated at 7.7 L/100 km combined, while AWD models are rated at 8.1 L/100 km combined.

Which 2020 Honda CR-V trim should I buy?

The 2020 Honda CR-V is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, Sport, EX-L, Touring, and Black Edition.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the least expensive way into the CR-V, but it is also the most basic. It makes sense if you want the core CR-V package and plan to keep costs down, but it is not the best value if you want more comfort or convenience features.
• Sport: This is the best-value trim. It adds 19-inch wheels, a heated steering wheel, blind-spot display, a moonroof, and a 12-way power driver’s seat, making it a much better-equipped choice without jumping all the way to the top trims.
• EX-L: This trim is the sweet spot if you want a more upscale cabin. It adds leather upholstery, heated rear outboard seats, wood-look inserts, and SiriusXM satellite radio capability.
• Touring: This trim adds navigation, a wireless phone charger, rain-sensing wipers, a panoramic moonroof, upgraded blind-spot monitoring, and LED headlights. It is appealing if you want the most complete feature set.
• Black Edition: This is the most expensive trim and adds cosmetic upgrades, ambient lighting, fancy exhaust pipes, and the same LED headlight advantage as Touring. It is best if you want the most fully loaded CR-V.

Honda Sensing is standard across the range, but blind-spot monitoring starts at Sport and rear cross-traffic monitoring is reserved for Touring and Black Edition.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Honda CR-V?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 26.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 723 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.42% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $25,265 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Honda CR-V's resale value?

The current average of $25,265 CAD sits slightly below last year's $28,521 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer today, but it also means a future seller may face a more competitive market if prices stay under pressure. The CR-V’s broad appeal should still support demand, especially because shoppers continue to value its practicality, efficiency, and everyday usability.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Honda CR-V safe?

The 2020 Honda CR-V earned a Top Safety Pick designation from IIHS and five-star ratings from NHTSA, including five-star ratings in the frontal and side crash tests and a four-star rating in rollover testing.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard and includes forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, lane departure warning and road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control with lane-keeping assist, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring is limited to Sport trims and above, while rear cross-traffic monitoring is limited to Touring and Black Edition.

The main caveat is that IIHS noted marginal halogen headlight performance on trims below Touring, so lighting quality is a key trim-level difference to watch.

Should I buy a 2020 Honda CR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 26.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.42% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 brings engine and safety upgrades that improve fuel efficiency and value.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $22,568 CAD, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $25,265 CAD average.
• It is refined, roomy, and historically reliable.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $26,174 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $25,265 CAD average.
• It is a broadly appealing, practical compact SUV with strong owner praise.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the best all-around pick if you want the updated drivetrain and safety improvements without stepping up to a newer, pricier year. If your priority is saving money, the 2019 is the better value play; if you want to spend a bit more for a newer model year, the 2021 is the natural alternative.
