How much does the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD cost?

Prices have softened 7.04% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 72 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the 2020 Silverado 2500HD’s overview backs that up with a clear focus on serious work capability, a more modern cabin, and useful trailering technology. If you want a heavy-duty truck that combines towing and hauling strength with more everyday equipment than older work trucks, this model year fits that brief well. 37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview describes a truck built around a new fully boxed frame made from seven different types of steel, which Chevrolet says is 20% stiffer than before, and that structural strength supports its heavy-duty mission. It also highlights a well-equipped cabin and useful towing hardware, both of which matter when you plan to keep a truck for demanding use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic capability and more about the costs and compromises that come with a large, highly capable heavy-duty truck.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right truck.

• Deal availability: 37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 72 listings available.

If you find a listing below $43,294 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $44,333 CAD sits slightly below last year's $47,690 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests future sellers may need to be realistic if they want to move the truck quickly. At the same time, the Silverado 2500HD’s strong capability and well-equipped cabin help it stay relevant with buyers who need a serious heavy-duty pickup. If demand stays steady for work-ready trucks with modern features, that should help support resale performance.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.04% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2020 if you want a heavy-duty Silverado with strong owner approval, a softer price trend, and enough deal activity to make shopping worthwhile. If your priority is simply finding the lowest possible entry price, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2020 is the better all-around target if you want a balanced mix of value and satisfaction.
