How much does the 2020 Chevrolet Malibu cost?

Is the 2020 Chevrolet Malibu a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Chevrolet Malibu earns a 4.58/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers commonly praise its smooth ride, attractive design, and good gas mileage, and many also like the value for money and comfortable interior. That fits well if you want a roomy, value-focused midsize sedan with a practical, easygoing character rather than something flashy. With 37.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2020 Chevrolet Malibu reliable?

Owners rate it 4.58/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also points to a car that feels dependable in everyday use, with owners highlighting its smooth ride, comfort, and value over time. That kind of feedback suggests the Malibu can be a sensible used buy if you want a straightforward family sedan you can count on.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright satisfaction and more about finding one that has been maintained well and still feels complete in terms of features and condition.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Chevrolet Malibu?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the best-priced examples.

• Deal availability: 37.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 75 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.14% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $17,442 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Chevrolet Malibu's resale value?

The current average of $17,481 CAD sits slightly below last year's $21,096 CAD.

That decline suggests the Malibu has become more affordable for used buyers, but it also means a future seller may face a softer pricing environment than owners saw a year ago. If you buy at today’s average, there may be less room for appreciation later, so resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been kept. Even so, the Malibu’s value-focused reputation can help it stay relevant with shoppers looking for a practical midsize sedan.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.58/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Chevrolet Malibu or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 37.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.58/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2020 Malibu makes the most sense if you want a roomy, value-focused midsize sedan and you like the idea of shopping in a market where prices have eased. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby model years to see whether a lower-priced example offers similar comfort and value, but the 2020 remains a strong starting point for practical buyers.
